Does anybody know where I can get hold of a copy (electronic copy or photocopy) for a Series 1 Dino 246? I have heard that there is a downloadable copy on the Internet... Also, if someone on the Ferrarichat has an electronic copy, I would appreciate if you can mail it to me. Thanks!! (mail [email protected])

The Owner's Manuals are readily and freely available at the above sites. The workshop manual and the parts manual are indespensable if you want to keep the car for a while. I got both of mine from FAF about 20 years ago. FAF is now Ferrari of Atlanta.

I now buy my parts from "GT Car Parts" in Phoenix and I believe that they can supply the English version of both manuals. The manuals are generally in loose leaf format which works better than anything else. GT people are great to talk with at (623) 780 - 2200. Try them.

The only English version you absolutely need is the Workshop manual since the Italian parts pictures work fine and the part numbers have all been changed anyway. You need to talk to someone when ordering parts. If you are not fluent in technical Italian, don't try to guess the detail meaning when ordering or rebuilding anything.

The only error that I have found are the torque limits on 6 x 1 bolts. The original factory books say 3.3 kg/m and the translations use the same numbers. 3.3 is guaranteed to strip bolt, nut or both. 1.3 or a little less is closer to reality.

Hope you enjoy your Dino as much as I have. Keep us posted as you learn just how special the car is.

    John
