    Mr Matteo,

I;m not here to make judgement on anyone or to take side. It's not what I am about. I don't know or care who post the picture of a battered woman but since you went on the defensive and tried to rationalize its existence, I will say it again but this time I will directed this message at you..."It is NEVER...NEVER...EVER acceptable to make light of domestic violence abuse" As a side note "regardless of the reason, nobody deserves to be physically abused. It is NEVER acceptable when a man lays his hands on a woman (or vice versa) to inflict bodily harms or injuries".

I have noticed an increasing number of younger audience participating and joining this community over the last few months. Let's set good examples for those people. If you still don't get it, then you are just not paying attention.

If you wonder why I speak out on this particular issue, I've served for a number of years on the board of director for SAFEHOME, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence here in the Kansas City area. So yes, I have strong conviction about this issue.

    http://www.safehome-ks.org/

FWIW, I am just as vocal about drug use abuse for I also served on the board of director for Sheffield Place, a homeless shelter for women and children who are chemical and drug dependent.

I share your convictions, but I also share the outrage at people like Arlie and Karen saying it was the victims fault, i.e. Natalee Holloway, PeterS niece.
Especially in a "what do I do" thread.
I don't care if Karen was born with a coathanger in her ear...other people have problems and need help too. These attention whores who start/perpetuate inane threads like "gay dancing" etc. need therapy if they are scarred by their experiences.
I too have been involved in support for these issues, and here in TX, drowning dogs at the pound generates more outrage than a mother feeding her infant crack in her bottle, killing her. So much for childrens' issues.
So back off a little...Matt and many of us are fed up with the idiotic posting, but are good people at heart. It is just hard to get people to STFU on the intarweb.
    Just my waste of bandwidth

The only thing I could never get used to in the gay bar scene is the sight of two guys kissing each other. Some things just don't seem right, no matter how long you study or try to rationalize them. Plus there should be a law that only women can wear pants that have the zipper in the back...

    Tom,

Let me be clear. I do not support the battering of women and I do not support child abuse.

I would like you to prove this statement (below) where I SAID I found it acceptable for a man to lay his hands on a women or I WANT A FULL AND PUBLIC APOLOGY

To echo's Lee's comments, I am tired of Karen blaming the victims. I am suprised she has not blamed the Shasta kids for what happened because they were playing outside.

Karen was insistant on going on and on and the pic that was posted had been posted here time and time again and yet no one raised an eyebrow in the past. Karen rang her attention bell again and you all came running.

Karen makes one VERY misleading statment about "many pic" is a flatout lie. And you all fell for it. You latched on to one sentence out of, I would say, 300 + posts. Gee, let's feel sorry for poor Karen....again.

Sure it was insensitive, I wanted it to be. She what been warned by the mods and others to back off and she still presisted.

If I was wrong about my rebuttle points, why has she not responded?

Why have the mods not stepped in to refute my points? You know why? Because I was right.

I see no one on a soap box when she was calling users gay, or blasting Pete's niece or even half of the crap she posts about.

I have no beef with you, I just wish you had done a little more rerseach on your wolf crying source BEFORE you came after me.

For sources, I suggest you contact the following users BEFORE you try to qualify your statement to me.

    Matteo,

Go back and re-read my the 3 posts I posted on this thread. You are not paying attention.

At no point, did I ever state Matteo said "I, Matteo found it is acceptable for a man to lay his hands on a women" or did I ever accept the insiuation of you posting that picture. However, you took issue with a number of us "less controversial members" who called you out on your behavior. You took issue with the Mods who deleted the thread and you went on the "defensive" with me on a public message I posted warning about the seriousness of "dometic violence abuse". This is the reason the message was direct at you.

Even after Venus (Karen?) posted the picture she accused you posting and instead of denying it, you defended it by questioning "my whereabout when she made the comment about PeterS niece". No, two wrongs don't make one right. No, I didn't see that thread...and yes, I too find it unacceptable. As I have said in my previous posts, I still don't know who posted the picture (and I don't care) but I will gladly re-deliver the same public message to anyone who try to defend its existence under any context......

I have always been a very passive member of this community and I've made a lot of wonderful friends with a lot of wonderful folks here and I hold many of them in high regards. Although, I find you at times mean sprited, exhibit a lack of repsects for your audience and offensive use of language, I have no beef with you either.

    Tom,

    I was paying attention.
Your original intent may have been different then how it reads.

When a statement is directed at me, as your post states, I read it as you are telling me with some factual backing.

Your statement is preaching at me and to me with an undertone of fact. Reread the quote with your goggles off and tell me that your post does not sound like you are making a point be that you are peaching to me about domestic violence that may or may not be taking place in my house.

That is how I read your post.

    I concur competely with Tom.

Matteo, I really don't think your behavior merits any apology. You stir up your own ****. Usually, it's in the OT section (where this thread now resides), and can generally be barely tolerated if not ignored. Then you bring it the area where people don't expect to read that garbage, and, uh oh, now you're surprised that people are ACTUALLY CALLING YOU OUT!

Rob Lay knows as any forum stakeholder that users go through a "Maturity" period. When I was 13, in the days of the great BBS, I, too, posted ridiculous and often provocative messages, but I grew out of it after a few months, once I realized that my behaviors were destructive to the community. Not me, just my behaviors. I grew up, apologized, and was a better man for it. I was also a pre-pubescent teenager.

The trouble here is, 10,000 posts and a few years later, you're still stuck in the "baby user" tier and can't seem to pull out of it. That's my take, anyway. I know that you're a tremendous person, but your actions on this forum do not indicate that, unfortunately.

As a stakeholder in this community I feel it necessary to tell you this. You don't have to like it. But if you would do everyone the kind service of toning down your posts, and perhaps filtering a potentially destructive or personally hurtful post every now and then, I know that I and many other members here would appreciate it.

    Respectfully,

    --Mike

    Mike,

I respect your opinion but there is a big difference between calling someone out about making some BS posts here and there and implying spousal abuse.

    Tom,

I understand where you are coming from in regards to the Pic Karen is referring to because it is a subject close to you.

Let me ask you since I do not ever see you post against other users when they post pic's of...

A boy scout leader giving a trophy to a child with down syndrom with the caption, You win the prize.

A picture from the special olympic's with the caption, Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympic's, you my win but you are still retarded.

The hespanic man in muddy flood water on a pay phone with a caption that reads, Hello, Chez, I am up to my neck in bullsh!t.

And the hundreds of others that poke fun, insult, mok, ridicule others.

Do you not post because you do not care about the issue and you only post on issues that are close to you or do you simply not care?

What is important and not funny to you might not be to others, and I am not saying I don't care about spousal abuse either.

    Matt

Though I find female bodybuilders very very unattractive, I guess to each his or her own. I do give venusone a word of advice though...

A strong recommendation to change your current hairstylist. I feel this person is still stuck in a 70's time blip.

I'm sure Matt and Karen's dislike for each other will never stop. They have totally different lifestyles and strong personality clashes. They do however, both have 308's, wierd.

I personally think female bodybuilding is gross....they shouldn't even call it that...they should call it "Females trying to be Men"
Bodybuilding to me is 'tuning your body to try to reach genetic perfection'.
    For men that means muscular
For women that means toning areas, but not crossing the line of feminitity.
I do not think Karen is the icon of genetic perfection.
I do think Marilyn Monroe was an icon of genetic perfection.
I do think Arnold Schwartzenegger is an icon of genetic perfection.
Marilyn Monroe did not look like Arnold Schwartzenegger, but Karen does.

    My 2 pennies.

Yet they got mad when I posted the other one.

    Abuse is abuse.

I guess because it is a male slapping a male it's ok in someone's book.

    Why no anti-afgan abuse posts?

    Tarantino
: Microwaves are definitely guy. Bachelors don't want to spend their time cooking because for some reason you don't enjoy the taste of your own food. So to spend an hour doing it just doesn't seem right. I mean, you're probably going to end up eating while standing in the kitchen anyway. Fax machines aren't something I would break down as a guy or nonguy thing. They're more about class lines: over minimum wage or under minimum wage. Stair Masters are definitely nonguy; Lifecycles are closer to a guy thing. Mostly, guys want to pump iron. If you want to talk real guy-guy, I would say that bike shorts are nonguy. I mean, a lot of guys in Los Angeles wear them, but how many wear them in Detroit? I don't think too many. (Thoughtful pause) Can I tell you another definitely nonguy thing? When you're dancing and you put your hands way above your head - that's very nonguy. There's a kind of homosexual line that exists right above your shoulders. You can dance like this (waves his fists at rib-cage level) all day, but the minute you start going like this (waves his hands above his head), that's very nonguy.

Matt..you have a real history here with BSing people. You are the last person who should be making comments about others as you do. Lets do a search shall we, and air your dirty laundry..

TomF1 is a good man and his comment towards you are valid. he would not be making such posts if he did not feel it was needed. You should take heed of the people whom normaly don't get involved in such matters, becuase it is their opinions that mean the most.
