Isn't this thread dissolving worryingly into the depths of unhelpfulness guys? Chris, you say you would never buy privately? I presume that money is no object then. My 348 Spider, late '93 will be officially for sale as soon as I get back from Spain in about 10 days. It has full history, known ownership from day one, will have about 33k on the clock, 13k of which will have been done in the last 11 months by yours truly. Depending on whether the buyer wants me to get the nose repainted and the next service done (I will use GrayPaul in Notts) then it will be for sale for between 34-36k (no pound sign on Spanish keyboards!) In a dealer it would be about 38-40k. Not the model or colour you are looking for but the principle is the same for all models. Private is fine as long as you know the history.
Slightly off topic, but the car is causing a bit of a stir down here I keep getting random girls in bikinis draping themselves over the car to have their pics taken, whether I am there to ask or not. That sun lotion doesn't half leave a mess Went down to Puerto Banus the other night with a mate who knows the Harbour Master, so we could get down through the barrier onto the marina front. We got about 20 yards when right outside Sinatra's Bar about 8 or 10 twelve-fourteen year olds swarm round the car wanting their pics taken. They were sat on the bonnet, the boot, the doors, everywhere! My mate said in 20 years he had never seen anything like it, even with the Lambos, of which there were a fair few! All good fun... apart from when it was parked up some toe rag stole my Ferrari dust caps... what a scrote! Oh, and of course there's all the tunnels!
We require photographic evidence. Rumour has it, you are actually in Bogner Regis and the women draping themselves over your car are Pensioners who are having a rest.
My mate is selling his 348 Spider through Verdis. It is extremely rare as it is triple black, i.e. exterior, interior and roof and must be almost unique in having had only one owner and only 4500 miles on the clock since new in 93! The closest you can get to a brand new one, although unlike some garage queens, this one has been exercised gently on a regular basis so there are no issues with dried-up oil seals etc. I also wanted my first Ferrari to be red, but having failed to find a nice one at the time, I have since owned two non-red ones and will probably never have a red one (unless I played the Lotto, my numbers came up and there were no black Enzos for sale!). I am authorised to sell the car either through Verdis or directly from the owner if you are interested. Please feel free to PM me. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bring it down to Spain Jas, they are all over it!!! That's a point though, maybe I should take some pics with MY camera of all these girls!
Chris, I've just bought private, had to look at it twice, get an F-engineer to look over it and then spoke to said engineer for a few hours and bought the car. dead easy!!!!! As long as you listen to this lot, and look at as many as you can, have an F-engineer look at it if its private and you'll be ok. Buarriana500's is really superb, we nearly bought it, but we went for red instead.its well worth looking at!!
You should have the car inspected even if its at a dealers. a quick steam clean and wax can make even the most abused 348 look reasonable
It cost about £180 for a report, but you should only need one if you decide on the car and have gone through a check list of your own!
