Here's the story- I used to be at AT&T wireless and had a Motorola T721. The phone kept breaking, and I eventually went thruogh five of them. I then got a new plan, and recieved a Samsung X427. THIS IS THE WORST PHONE EVER! It drops calls, gets NO SERVICE, and dials customer care randomly. In the business forum, I started a thread about my business (check it out!). I will now need a new phone...which phone should I get? Do I need a blackberry-type phone? Suggestions please! Thanks, Mike
That is what I have and it is very good - battery life is great, features and size.. Good phone and the price is much better than when I got it when it first came out...
Find a simple non-camera no-bull**** Nokia with their killer UI and be done with it. No stupidity, no nothing. --Dan
cingular blows !!! i have them now and no matter what phone i use its the same crappy service, im switching back to verizon when my contract is up !!!
The razor is good, i use the MPx220 and it has impressive recepiton (as usualy Moto is knows for horrible Rx/Tx). Also the 220 uses MS ActiveSync to Outlook so all my names and addresses, appts, etc easily update/upload to it. Just my 2 Yen.
I have a Blackberry 7250 from Verizon and it is great when connected to a Blackberry Enterprise Server. It syncs up automatically with my outlook and e-mail on the go is fantastic. I also agree that Cingular isn't that good. I bought two Blackberry's at first to test out the service (Verizon and Cingular) and Cingular didn't have service in my apartment or most of the surrounding area. In the areas where service was available, it was voice only and no data.
I just hooked up with Cingular and got a Razr. It's a very cool phone, no doubt. However, I get dropped calls a little more often than I should, which I believe is due to Cingular rather than the phone.
I think i've settled on a PalmOne Treo 600 with Cingular. Even if the service is horrible and I need to change carriers, they are compatible with T-Mobile. I looked at the blackberry, but I couldn't see why they don't have a stylus-compatible screen! If the treo doesn't work function-wise, I'll just get the razr.
Perhap[s Cingular blows, but Nextel is THE WORST of them all. Please don't ask me how i know. We call them NexHELL!
I got the Razr. Pretty cool phone so far, just, don't drop it 'cause if you do you're screwed! I've had Cingular for 3 years now and have no complaints, other than the fact that it doesn't work when you're riding the DC Metro, and Verizon does work there. My previous phone (Motorola V60) kicked azz, I loved it! I got bored of it so I upgraded to the Razr, but the V60 is still the best phone I've ever had.
After reading the hrrrible reviews of the treo, I decided to look again at the Blackberry 7100g. Does anyone have one of these? How do you like it??
I'm partial to Sony Ericsson cellphones. No interference with hearing aid. My wife prefers the Nokia layout, so that floats her boat. Doesn't do me any good, though. Horrible interference. I believe their "Allover Network" (thanks in no small part to merger with AT&T) started in fall of 2004, so, off-highway service has improved markedly. They're still improving (spending big bucks) existing reception areas as well as adding new ones, so cutoffs are closer to being a thing of the past.
Razr is CRAP, the ONLY person i iknow that has not broken theirs is Black355. I have my Treo600, not going to bother upgrading to the 650 until a Treo700 comes out with a better camera. www.phonescoop.com has all the latest stuff pending approval
Samsung builds great phones....Its not your phone, trust me....I have a feeling this is your problem... They switched you from there old TDMA system and put you on their GSM system...which they still haven't fully built out the coverage. No matter what phone you get the reception is going to be crap.
Sony Ericsson makes a pretty reliable phone....This is the beefs i have them and most people I know too... 1. Their antenna strength is typically the weakest in the industry...In big cities it wont matter, but in fringe areas...Ericssons will break you. 2. Their menu features are tough to figure out for the novice...They are not like Nokia and Samsung...companies that built idiot proof menus. 3. People break their charging ports a lot. Not as much as the motorola 3 prong pin, which is the worst charging port ever created...Who didnt own a v60 or T193 or some other motorola that eventually had charging problems..
I am stuck on the phone situation, I'm with verizon and am wanting the Razr. I have thought about everything from switching over to cingular or Tmobile, importing the korean razr that works for Verizon or just waiting. No one can confirm when the verizon Razr will be out, but it will be better than the cingular/tmobile one. I've heard, between thanksgiving and christmas, summer 06, August 31st, everything... Does anyone know??????
korean razr will not work with verizon...it must have verizon software in it to be able to be used on their system. CDMA is different then GSM.
I love cingular compared to sprint.. quality isnt as good .. but the billing is much much better.. and rollover is truly a value. (at least to me).. Regarding phones.. I have to always get one with a speaker phone.. my only requirement really.
