The F40 is his dad's. So it's still in the family..
I've been in two of Armen's garages, he manages, and has more than that His 288GTO with F40 turbos is my favourite. Classy guy too.
Thanks Mike. I just love to see stuff like this. Brings a giant smile to my face. The cars in that garage look vacuum-sealed to the floor. RMX
sorry guys, I've been out all day, firstly test driving the Phantom. I'm in New York right now. I tested the Phantom this morning. My god, am I ever in love. First thing I said when I got in was, I feel like a chauffer. I love driving it though. This car attracts a lot of attention, probably because its size. I love the front grill, it looks so mad. I think this will probably be my next car. The test drive awesome, drives great for its size. All in all it was a great day, and the Phantom is a great car, right now I'm debating on what color
Dear Mr. Silius, Hi this is your buddy who let you test drive that black Phantom today in NYC. I hope you enjoyed the ride. I just wanted to let you know that it really was a Toyota Avalon - I know the back seats are identical! Say, have you taken your 355, or wait, your 360 out lately? On 7-5-05 you claimed you owned a BMW 740iL, H2 and 355. On 8-13-05 you claimed a 360 was your first F-car. Assuming you bought your 360 prior to your 355, why wouldn't you have mentioned it on 7-5-05 as one of your cars you "already" owned??? In order to own the 360 first and by stating you had a 355 on 7-5-05 means you bought a 360 on 7-4-05 or earlier - shouldn't you have mentioned that as one of your cars?!?!? With all due respect, people who come on this board and lie frankly make people who are honest, who don't have a Ferrari yet - who are trying to learn as much as we can from people who do actually own them on this board very difficult, because you are exactly who enthusiasts don't want to waste there time with. Yours truly, Isaiah (An honest student who will someday hopefully hire you to be that chauffer you felt like today "cruising" in the Phantom)
But you can afford a Rolls-Royce, Ferrari 360, and whatever else? Something doesn't sound right. Also, your in New York "now", when on the first page you said your moving into your house "tomorrow", have the time to test drive a $300,000 RR (which you quoted at $400,000), when your location is California.
As someone that really does have a driver, I highly recommend that you get one that doesn't lie. It really does make life easier. Helps if he or she has a similar sense of humor too.
Don't get me wrong those red cars are extra large also. aren't they? http://www.autotitre.com/forum/up/305e599e82.jpg
Silius, The Phantom is great, but the new LWB version is nicer, looks more like my previous 1978 Phantom VI. It is a huge car but much smaller than my Bugatti Royale. The new Phantom LWB fits snugly in the belly of my just-bought 344ft *lady moura* yacht along with my 250 GTO. Driven around Monaco in a Phantom is cool although my old folks said they prefer the 1955 SLR *722* while enjoying the sunny Southern France. They got bored of the silver color though and repaint it black. Yup, my silly folks, they were even trying to race the SLR 722 against my Miura SV Jota. They don't have a chance. I owned many exotics and often bring them whenever I travel. My G550 (http://www.gulfstream.com/g550/) is small and does not have a backside ramp so I always charter An-225 from Airfoyle (http://airfoyle.co.uk/) to bring all my collections during summer holidays. The An-124 is a bit small when you're considering taking 40 cars. Maybe it will fit 25 cars only. Oh, the hassle. I have told my Dad to get a bigger plane than their BBJ (http://www.boeing.com/commercial/bbj/) or my Mom's ACJ (http://www.airbus.com/en/aircraftfamilies/acj/) but they said they will keep those until their custom A380 order is delivered sometimes in 2008. Why they didn't order a 747-400 and get it ready in 10 months is beyond me. Sheesh! I hope they will order a back ramp so I can borrow it and bring at least of my FXXs to Ibiza. Anyway, I hope you find the right color for the Phantom. It looks better than my Brabus Maybach 62. I think I'm gonna give the 'Bach to my cousin. He's just 17 and needs a car to learn to drive. I don't want some silly teenager learning to drive in a sportscar, that's why I'm never gonna let him drive my Mclaren F1. Cheers.
Taffy - Airbus delivered mine with elevator and ramp. You should come check it out. They even customized the storage with a lift and basic tools. Let me know when and I'll send it over for a while. It's not a problem, since my dad got one to match. Besides, I split the cars up, so I'm not carrying the full load anyways. BTW - can you tell your people to open up your airport again? I need to stop over at your place and pick up a few old masters so my nephew can water color by number. --Dan
Dan, There is NO way my Mom is gonna let me convert her ACJ with a car storage. It would be easier for me to just rent An-225 from the nice people at Airfoyle. Besides, I gotta save money so that one day I can upgrade my personal G550. BTW these are the pics of her plane. Each pic has my distinct Alpina logo so that you know these are my *original* pic not just something I pull out of the internet PS: Regarding my airport, tell your secretary to call my secretary to arrange the time.
