I'm speechless. Keying ANY car is a shame, but somebody that would do this to very high-end car has some serious, deep seeded hatred type of mental problems.

I'll pitch in the first $100 towards a reward for the person that will rat on the lowlife that molested your car.

To think that one of us could do such a thing is pretty shocking. I hope that if he is positively identified we'll all be told who the culprit is.

As for myself, I never go to the P&R board....not that I don't care, I actually have very strong views....it's just that I don't want those things to intrude on the Ferrari experience, or to influence my opinion of any fellow FChatters. If I were the proprietor here I'd delete the P&R forum. There are lots of other places on the web for those discussions. (Just my unsolicited noob $.02)

Thanks for the messages guys. I am offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to confirmation of the identity of the culprit that keyed my car at Concorso Italiano. If someone wants to anonymously give information we can arrange the communication and reward through a moderator or other means.

I will give $1,000 to the person that has first-hand knowledge of who did this and tells me. With PeterS's $100 - the total is $1,100.

I do believe more than one person knows and one of these people will have mentioned this to someone else. I believe in the strength of the F-chat community to surface this information.

Mike - First off I'm very sorry to hear that this happened. You are taking it much better than I would be! I cannot believe that this happened yesterday! Especially with so many people around! There were only about a dozen 550s parked on the hill. I spent a fair amount of time sitting on the grass with a couple of other Fchatters watching the cars and people walk by. Other than the occasional hand prints on the windows from people looking inside the cars - we did not see anything unusual. I was admiring your car since I am a big Novitec Rosso wheel fan! I even took photos since you were parked right next to me. Wow. Still can't believe someone would do that ... :(

Can you set up a special account for donations? I live here on the east coast but would be happy to mail a donation to your office or to a bank to assist with this issue. Whoever did that, his soul is required in hell. Many years ago, I had a Euro Spec BMW 323i. Someone took the liberty of kicking in one of the quarter panels. I was crushed, because I was never able to get it in the same condition as before the incident. I know the feeling to have worked hard, or to have made sacrifices to achieve anything from a sport bike to a sports car. Let's all chip in sometime, Ferrari owner or not, and let's try to track this individual down. Remember, the Pope blessed Ferraris, God is on your side!

you could probably narrow it down to a non - ferrari owner, how could a ferrari owner key another ferrari ? it would be the furthest thing from our minds ,to eventhink about degrading such a car. a ferraris appearance is appreciated by more than just the current owner.

Nope, I was thinking someone with a small "pee pee". Ferrari or Pinto, anyone that would harm someones car or belongings is a nutless person IMO.

You have got to be kidding me. This is by far the most sickening thing I have heard. WHat kind of [expletive] person would key a beautiful 550 at an event like the Concorso?! Today is truely a sad day, and whoever did the cowardly act should surface in time.

I cannot tell you how sorry I am, and I wish you the best luck in fixing and finding the culprit.

I want to thank everyone for their responses. It is a shame that someone would do this at a gathering of enthusiasts. It is reassuring to hear all the kind words here. Art, I agree - differences stay in the P&R section and the love of Ferraris is what shines through.

I met so many nice people - I was letting anyone that wanted to sit in my car. Kids and adults alike were so excited to sit in a Ferrari and it was nice to see this excitment and help build the next generation of owners and enthusiasts.

In fact, in one of the pictures that Jeffrey posted you can see me and my girlfriend in the background (red shirt) and you can see a random enthusiast in the drivers seat. I even told a few people they could start it up - you should have seen the grins.

Although it is a bummer that some lowlife keyed the entire side of the car, I am not letting this ruin my weekend - it's a car and will be fixed when I get back to LA.

Thanks again, everyone for the support. thank you PeterS and Snapper for you nice offers. I can handle the reward money and any related costs of pressing charges - however, I appreciate your sentiment.

    Mike

I can't believe this. Good luck in your search, Mike.

It might not be a consolation, but remember you're obviously in a better place in your life and self-identity than the jealous fool who did it.

Hard to believe that anyone could do such a thing without being observed. Just look at the pics of the event. Although I understand that attendance was down this year, so many people around all of the cars all of the time. Even harder to believe that anyone, particularly an F-Chatter, would even think of doing such a thing. I hope you find the culprit, but I sincerely hope your suspicions are incorrect.

This is incredibly sad. There were so many people there yesterday - hopefully someone saw something.

I'm assuming they knew it was your car because you have posted pictures of your car and some idenitfying feature, like a license plate? If so, this really illustrates the danger in not taking the extra precaution of concealing such information. I removed my list of "Ferraris owned" a while ago, because I was starting to get unsolicited inquiries about them, but an act of vandalism (or potentially worse) is much more disturbing.

I had my name on the Concorso Form which was to be placed on the dashboard at the event. Unfortunately, TVRFreak had previously posted my full name in a P&R thread several times (in order to get my goat). I have also posted pics of the car with the new Novitec wheels and my license plate. There was zero doubt as to whose car this was. This was not a random act. It was a deliberate act by someone over opinions in F-chat P&R.

Well, that was a good call...

Above all, I'm disgusted. If there's one thing you don't do, it's !@#% with another man's automobile; a great line from Pulp Fiction.

Find the person. Be sure of it, though, before you make the announcement. JMO.

I agree..... Some people are just completely jacked in the head....
If you have a personnel vendetta for someone then "MAN/Women" UP!!!! and confront the person you have a problem with.... But as you all know, cowards would much rather take it out on someone's property because the property dont fight back...... For those of you who like to vandalize (with personnel vendetta's in mind), simply just dont want to get your a**'s whooped......
Cowards!!!!! Your just an american version of Bin Laden..... (pick on the weak because they wont whoop you)....
You ever get caught, and you know who you are, you know what will happen..

    I feel for ya Mike

I agree with all the sentiments here about someone having to be a coward and a low life to damage a beautiful car like yours. I think the attitude of "I am dissapointed and mad, but not crushed" is a healthy one. Make sure this does not get the best of you, and don't do anything stupid. If you find out who it is, definitely pursue it through the local police, etc... Maybe you could even make a 'hate crime' case if you could establish the motive being one of religious views (there are more serious penalties for that in Florida anyway).

Oh, now that is wrong on all levels. If they can't agree to disagree and leave it in that forum when they leave it, they have issues.

I too, "troll" the P&R section as well, when I get my exotic, does this mean I need a plain clothes armed guards watching my car?

Mike, I hope you find the jerk who ruined your beautiful Ferrari...... and don't hold back when you do.
