Sorry about the 550.... just a shame!
But... I seem to be straining my neck looking up.... you are truly taking the proverbial high road. Kudos. I'd be furious, and it would ruin my weekend. Write a book on how to deal with these kind of situations and not be pissed. Me and millions of others would buy it!

Wow, that's horrible. My sympathies... and applause for your healthy attitude and handling of the situation.

I mostly agree with all that's being said... but to those participating in this thread, this thread is NOT in P&R... and P&R behavior is not okay in Ferrari Discussion forum. The language tolerance here is much lower than in P&R... please be considerate. And there should be absolutely no references to political parties or religions here... they will be deleted (as some have already).

The issue here is a Ferrari and a low-life, cowardly criminal ... and a community of Ferrari lovers who will hopefully uncover the slime.

I had that happen twice when I was watching a movie in another nearby state. The police told me that some professional thieves would kick a car really hard for the second stage of testing what sort of alarm the car had (e.g. LoJack, simple noisemaker, pager, etc.).

In response, I put on the infrared detection alarm (i.e. put your hand inside the car, it sees the heat signature and pages you) and they never hit that particular car again.

Mike: If you really believe it is somebody taking a misguided form of revenge over their animosity toward you from the board, let the police know who you suspect and let them sort it out. There may be little legal consequence to keying somebody's car, but one can definitely go to prison for lying to law enforcement officers conducting an investigation. What's the downside? If the bad actor(s) are in the neighborhood right for the next couple days, it won't take much to round 'em up....

    Wow....

Sorry to hear that about the 550. I don't understand why people do such things in the first place. If they have a problem do it face to face don't stoop to those levels. Its not only disrespectfull & cowardly but it shows you how much of a low life you really are. - Actions speak for the person -

I hope you nail this guy.....

Mike, yours is a very nice car, Sunny did a great job, and this is unacceptable behavior from anyone, yet alone a community member.
    I am saddened and shocked.
Dump that g0dawful P&R forum, and put lid on idiot Noobs.
This is some immature idiot who gets away with this stuff here,so tries it on someones car. What's next??
And posting a full name is BS... Faisal should be banned for that BS.
Hide your plates, people can be weasels.
Ban the sloth after outing them. And post it on every damned car forum on the web.
Brian, please get the mods to be more assertive. It isn't language in photos, tits, or idiotic threads. It is trolling, lying, political BS arguments, religion, and general laissez-faire around here that allows this stuff to escalate. THIS IS NOT OK, and none of us should put up with it. Period.

100% agree. Take your suspicions to the police. Let them handle it. If they take an interest, and I would hope they would, it is certainly better for them to handle. Once an arrest is made, then out the guy.

Noobs need closer attention and P&R raises blood pressure and tempers. It's easy to say just stay out of there, but apparently hard to do. We've had personal threats, attacks, insults hurled, but it takes a car getting scratched to make us think that maybe now is the time to get rid of the section?

Hmmmmm. Strikes me as closing the barn door after all the cows got out.

    JMHO.

Obviously, that could've been anyone's car damaged and anyone who did it.

This was your car, however - yours - many of us have had the pleasure of seeing Sunny's touch bring your pride and joy to life, all of F-Chat takes displeasure in seeing a cheap thrill at your expense.

Hopefully, a random someone will have a picture/video which accidently caught the act in progress and somehow that will come to light.

I doubt, however this was P&R or FerriariChat motivated. I don't think there is one soul here that spiteful, nor do I think anybody on "the other" side of the P&R fence is having a laugh at this.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear about your car. But I'm really pleased to hear how you are handling this. At the end of the day, even a Ferrari is just a car.

I hope that you'll keep us informed about what you find out. These types of acts can mean the end of public events involving Ferraris and other high end cars. Right now the whole scene at Monterey is really, realy cool, all the cars are very accessible, and their owners are laid back and friendly. But if something like this happens again, you can bet that many people will have second thoughts about taking a car to CI or Cavallino or whatever. If fact, if you haven't done so already, you should speak to the owners of CI. If I was them, I would want to know about this sad event.

About P&R, I have defended it many times in the past when certain people (particularly those accross the pond) wanted to shut it down. But I must admit that P&R is one of the reasons why I don't come here much any more. Even when I put certain people on ignore, I'd end up seeing their idiocy when someone else would quote them. Then Maranelloman got banned, and things really took a drive. But instead of calling for a ban of Eric the Nut and the other looneys, I decided to spend what little spare time I have doing something else. I'm proud to say that I have stayed out of P&R the few times that I have been back.

However, if you are correct in your suspicions, it is time to shut P&R down. To think that someone would do such a childish thing due to comments made on an Internet chat board is scary. The more I think about it, the more concerned I get. The Internet is one of those watershed, world changing phenomenons. However, I'm not sure that it is all for the good.

At any rate, I admire your self restraint. Please have a good stiff drink tonight on me (send me the bill) because you are clearly a better person than whatever scumbag did this.

Also if there is anybody who would like to communicate with Mike, but feels uncomfortable doing so directly for any reason whatsoever, please don't hesitate to email me at mailbagatdrtaxdotcom. I'll be happy to relay your comments to Mike on a confidential basis. Or, if you prefer, I'll also volunteer Art Chambers as a go between. Because Art is a California attorney, this might give you privilege. I'm sure that Art will not mind me voluntering him for this duty. :)

Hang in there bud. Taking the high road is always the better choice.

Well, I wanted to make the penalty for this ****** somthing even every younger car fan could afford.

I think for those who can afford it, a shot to the nuts should be $500, and shot to the head $1000.

If you want to hold his legs and slowly lower him into a wood chipper, it's $5000

People like this should NOT be killed, but they SHOULD be tourtured....

this happened to me once, but a bit more worse then a KEY job.

Mike I dont know you, but if you are part of this forum you must be
"one of us" and with that being said, no one deserves anything like this to be done.

The car did nothing wrong, and was there for enjoyment (on your behalf to others)

I am confident that this person will be caught and that justice will be served.

That really does suck. I was there yesterday and it really didn't seem like the type of place where something like this would happen. Something like that happens in the parking lot at wal-mart, not the concorso. With so many people walking around it's hard for me to believe that someone was able to get away with that with no one noticing. Hopefully you find out who did it.

On a sidenote, and just out of curiosity, are you positive it's a scratch that would come from a key? Is it possible that this was an accident in any way? Maybe a womans purse or something along those lines? Or is it clearly a key scratch?

Either way, I really hope you find out who did it.

I just signed on after spending quality detailing time with an F-chatter and their exotic to see this thread.

Mike, I'm aghast and extremely sorry this happened and hope you find out who did it.

Give me their name and I'll make sure the police conduct their investigation from the hospital.

It will get fixed and they will get theirs.
