My 83 has 'Cavis 400 Classe B' spark plug wires. Does anyone know if these are original? I have a MSD 6A and a MSD 8202 on the way. Are these Cavis wires solid core (since MSD requires other than solid core)?

My wires have a 90 degree bend as soon as they leave the distributor. Is this orginal or did the wires orginally leave the the distributor without the bend?

    Thanx
    Mark

In answer to your questions: Yes and yes

I bought a set of identical looking Cavis wires from GT Car Parts in Phoenix, Arizona about a year ago for apx. $300.

They came complete with new metal loom brackets and everything needed to replace the stock set, including a new coil wire.

    They don't have a web site, but here's their phone # 623-780-2200

I have also heard that Ted Rutlands sells the wire sets too.

    Mark,

I forgot to mention that the stock Cavis wires are NOT solid core. They are working just fine with my MSD unit and coil.

William- Factory TR wire sets are indeed insanely expensive!

    Gary,
Were the wires for your Boxer?
Did they have the white covers over them also?

Yes, the Cavis wires I mentioned are on my Boxer.

The injected Boxers have black wires and the earlier carb ones have "white" wires.

    Okay, Thanks.
I've had one wire just go 'Dead', and the white covering is sort of dirty/greasy looking.
I'll give the GT guys a call when I return home.
