potential 575 purchase question re fiorano handling pack

certainly people look for it and it does affect residuals if not fitted. I understand from Dick Lovett's that the std cars were much better after an update for the suspension ECU but still not in 550 territory

 

I drove 575 with FHP and felt the car porpoise at speed. With FHP still a little soft IMO, but no porpoising. Personally I wouldn't take a 575 without FHP, but depends on how you want to use car. As a daily commuter, no problem without FHP. For more agressive use, definately. Problem is lots of 575s didn't have FHP, so is somewhat harder to find.

Is it possible to have FHP retro fitted and if so, roughly how much are we talking about?

The car would be mostly a daily driver, but I did hear that it (FHP) reduces nose grounding, is that normally a problem day-to-day?

I haven't bought the car yet, but as it's a fairly late model (Nov 04) I assume that it has the latest updates. Do you happen to know the release dates?

On the FHP issue, I hear many different opinions. Most seem agreed that the early cars tested by journos were a little on the soft side, a problem which according to Ferrari has been fully addressed on later models, with most of the features of the earlier FHP being incorporated into later models anyway, including latest F1 shift software. Also I understand that the early two cars released for press comment were US spec because of a shortage of Euro models, which explains the difficulties given the ride height regs in the States. So the only way to see if any of that is true is to drive both I guess. But if anyone has a late model 575 (with or without FHP) I'd be fascinated to hear their overall views, not only on this point but on general impressions / potential pitfalls etc.

The M5 is not quicker than a 575, I had just filled up with 95 octane knats pee when asked to give one a run over a 1 mile distance, we were together until he topped out at 155mph when I went on past him, my top speed was 8mph down at 174mph from the morning run of 182mph running on Optimax. Clearly the fuel had quite an impact on the top end and all through the performance, therefore it was not a completely fair comparison.
