You have to be a 'qualified' bidder to make a bid. I assume there is some strange requirement to sign some other agreement to bid (which would make the selling price more realistic). If this is not a scam, it looks like a real bargain!

Same old scam....you have to contact him to be able to bid, then he tells you the real price, or how to send money overseas.................

I live in Conyers and just e-mailed the seller to call me. If he does I'll go look at the car and report back.

Oooh. Didn't see that. It's probably a scam then. The vin looked real enough and the description seemed legit. I did not notice that part, though. I did go through the items in the seller's feedback and it's a wierd mix. However, most stolen eBay identities have tons of feedback and his doesn't, so I thought maybe it was legit.

Sometimes people will use the "qualified bidder" technique to get buyers without having to pay the eBay completed sale fee.

Scam. It's worth $10k as a parts car. Notice the license is fuzzed out? They don't want to be traced. The description is suspect too. It reads like a $25-35k car.

If it said, "Rough interior, leaks from cam seals, clutch slips, but runs okay" I'd have already bought it.

Further development here...I got this as a reply when I used the ask seller a question feature. Does this mean ebay is on to him?

    "Dear jordan747_400 ([email protected]):

Our records indicate that you recently sent an email to or received an email
from atlguy1984 through the eBay email system (for example, you may have sent an
email to this member through Ask Seller a Question or received an email from
this member through Contact eBay Member).

Sometimes eBay accounts are used to send email solicitations for transactions
outside of eBay, or to send unrelated questions in hopes that you will respond
so that the other party can obtain your email address. We wanted you to be aware
of the potential fraud risk these solicitations pose and encourage you to be
cautious about the email you received from this member.

Please keep in mind, sales that take place outside of eBay are not eligible for
any eBay or PayPal protective services and you run the risk of losing your money
or your item if you complete these transactions. We would encourage you to
review the eBay pages related to Fraud Protection at the address provided below
for information on steps you can take to ensure that your transactions are
    successful:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/isgw-buyer-protection-steps.html

If you have already sent the item or sent payment for the item, please reply to
this email and we will send you additional information about how to protect
    yourself.

    Regards,

    Trust & Safety Department"

Yep, it's the usual "overseas" scam... suddenly the car is not in Georgia:

    ===============

    Hi ,

Before i can add you on my pre-approve list i just wanna to let you know the terms of this deal.

The car will be shipped from Edinburgh ,Scotland & i will cover shipping fees as my wife work for DHL air service , so all you have to pay for this car it's BUY IT NOW price ($6.400) . Will be shipped with DHL Autos Air Service and you will receive it within 8 days tops.DHL will delivery the car at your door.

Condition : perfect working condition , no damage,no scratches or dents,no hidden defects, and it is as advertised. You can see more pictures of the car here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/atlguy122/album?.dir=1a53 . Is an US model with US specs and will be shipped with CLEAR US TITLE.

We have recently opened a small business in Edinburgh , Scotland and we moved here. We found out that we have to pay a large amount of money to regist the car here, because it is an US model (which complies with the US emission ) and Europe regulations are different from these ones.

If you are interested get back to me and i'll let you know terms of this deal.

    Thank you ,

    Chris Combs

Funny, I'm going to Scotland in 2 weeks for a vacation. Maybe I should actively seek out this car and tell the guy I'm flying overseas just to inspect it.
