Colorado's full of good highways, places to eat and scenic views with portapotties! So, there's no reason that weekly trips - somewhere - can't be arranged, ad-hoc, using this forum. I'd suggest that this forum be used, early in the week, by someONE to say, "Hey, this Saturday, I was thinking about taking off on a drive to X, leaving at Y and doing Z...anybody else want to come? Let's get a group together by Thursday and do it Saturday!

For example: Because my lady friend (Denver)has blood anemia (riding in too many Ricers, according to a Shelby owner) and lady friend (Springs) has a tooth absess and lady friend (Ft Collins) is stuck in real estate hell, I'm leaving alone (boo hoo) and VERY DAMN EARLY this Saturday morning (8/27) to arrive in Aspen at 9-10am because there's now only two other Ferraris participating in the CECA/ Ferrari event. I plan to gas up (cheap) in Glenwood Springs, ROAR into Aspen, stash the car at the mall/ CECA car show and then hang out doing stores/ galleries until they close, grab a cheap-but-good bite to eat at Little Annies and then:

PLAN A: Take a retired aerospace friend back to Vail if he wants to go to Aspen for a day or
PLAN B: Shoot back over Independence Pass to drink a beer in Leadville.

Either way (A or B) I'll make my way (via Leadville or Breckenridge) down to a house I have at Woodland Park (where I have a LET'S PARTY! expense account at the local hot spot because my art is hanging there). Then, Sunday, I'll make it back into Denver. The house in WP has an extra bedroom if anyone wants to make that trip.

I'm getting a pair of eBay-cheap $500 QuickSilver exhaust cans mounted on Friday to go with the Stebro center pipe that Jeff at FoD turned me onto...and I'm going to SCREAM into Aspen (25mph speed zone in 1st or 2nd gear) and violate their prissy, "Home of the Stars" noise ordinances (the racetrack at Aspen requires street legal muffflers!).

Next year, I may be the chairman of the Ferrari Fall Foliage Tour. And I assure you that the 2006 trip will be as cool as the EXCELLENT tour which the current gang (esp Kent Miller and Peter Taylor) have put together for this September. For 2006, I'm already lining up escort cops who "understand" driving fast and safe. But instead of doing southern and central Colorado, it'll do EMPTY northern CO and southern WY (maybe even dip into Utah on US 40 to get the FOC Utah people excited about the Rocky Mountain Ferrari scene (they regularly only see the Tetons, Old Faithful Lodge and Wolf Pass). As for this year's folliage tour, because space is limited (I'm not even in the 2005 group) I'm going to suggest that some of us do JUST PART of the 2005 folliage tour (like one day's adventure or two) hang out with the drivers who are already signed up for the whole tour, stay in a different town if need be and split...as they go on to their next cool destination.
JUST DO IT!
