    on an old 308 carb car which bank is 1-4 from looking in the engine bay?
    for tune up.

    #1 is by (LHD) pass rear light. Count in horse shoe style clockwise.

    The 1-4 bank on a 308 is the bank that is really easy to change the spark plugs. I've heard the F cylinder numbering rule (for any model) stated as:

    When standing at the clutch end facing the engine, count in a "U" shape starting in the upper right hand corner.

    thanks for the info. i had it right but the tone was off after a tune up and i thought maybe i had it wrong.

    Barry, that looks just like my car but i don't have that really neat plate i will have to look for one. !!cool!!
