This is the car Ferrari should have produced years ago. Just beautiful.

That seems very nicely done. Has Ferrari given a reason why they don't do a standard production convertible (excluding the limited edition Barchetta and SA) in the V-12 line?

Yes, nice Straman conversion, recently purchased by fchatter. Was for sale for a long time at over 200k but went for much much less I think. Budget a good 8-10k for all the things gone bad sitting for the last 8 years, but a great car and idea if the price is right.

I think it looks pretty sharp, much better than the barchetta IMO

The ad says this is one of two... What is the color of the other? Does anyone know?

at a certain price, this is a car that i would be intersetd in. price will dictate the sale-ability of the car.

Hey guys. Long time since I posted since i have been real busy. Yes, this is my car that I had on this site a few months ago. I had a buyer, actually 3 strong buyers, but all fell through. One fellow made me hold the car in storage and have several exams to check everything out. Strung me out for about 3 months. As far as problems, there are none. You won't need to budget anything major. As I stated before this is an awesome car. There are maybe 3 small stone chips but you have to look close. The trunk pistons to hold the trunk up could be tighter but they could probably be adjusted (Obviously I am not a mechanic). The shift knob was scratched but I just replaced it with a new one so shines like crazy. The leather on the steering wheel over the air bag puckers a little bit but very little. As you can see, I am critical about the care and looks. Never taken out in the rain to my knowlege and is on a trickle charger. Always garaged. There are no dents at all since I had that all checked and seats look brand new. The engine looks brand new and I have not noticed any problems. I am not a mechanic like i said but the car has been put up on racks and checked out a few times in the last 3-4 months. This is a unique Ferrari and I would like to see somebody out there that appreciates Ferraris to get it. Feel free to message me with any questions. Didn't mean for this to sound like a sales pitch since that is not the intent of this site but it appears that you guys wanted to know.

Oh yeah, the other Spider is owned by Marciano of Guess jeans fame. It is red with a black top like mine. However, the boot that goes over the retracted top is tan on mine (like the seats) but it is black on Mr. Marciano's.

Have you worked out the problems with the top yet?

not sure what problems that you are referring to. I couldn't get a picture on the website of the top retracting but not actually doing it. there are two latches that hook the front of the top to the windshield frame. the one on the passenger side is tighter so you have to remember to undo that one first, otherwise not much else to say. also, do not repeatedly open and close the top since the actuators will overheat (so I am told).

Perhaps you're referring to the Barchetta's top, which isn't too pretty as you stated, not to mention quite difficult to use. However, this was a Maranello aftermarket conversion, and the top actually looks quite nice...[note picture]

Though if I had a Barchetta, I wouldn't worry about no stinkin' top. So sexy...

Usually conversions look horrible with the tops up, in this case it looks pretty nice.
