Just a quick heads up,the new City Link rear facing cameras are now operational. My latest statement includes journeys for my rear plate only Ferrari. Oh well, all good things must come to an end eventually.

Yes, driving in Victoria is hazardous to your licence - and a damn nuisance in Melbourne without an E-tag. :(

Tolls only. I was a bit concerned when the were first mounted and was waiting to get a bill for the Ferrari, confirming they were toll only cameras. Can't be far away from integrating average speed travelled into the toll system as a secondary way of picking up speeding revenue.

I'd suggest that's why they were installedin the first place. Better than the propals for transponders mounted in helmets, which could have been used totrack speeding etc, that were being touted a few years back.

Motorbikes are still free...but it won't be long before they start charging the toll for those too...and there's no reason why they shouldn't, of course.

Aye, and don't forget that for awhile they were considering front plates for bikes for reasons of "safety"..... (that was the most transparent suggestion I've ever heard)

Have to grab for every dollar you can I guess.

Not that I really mind paying my way on it, but it was nice not to ;)

They are not designed with a front plate mount. You may see some with number plate stickers applied to the front spoiler section.
