    Check Fig 38 on pages 47-48 of your Mondial8 OM. Probably item 84 if it has more than one vacuum hose attached (can't tell from the pics). If so, it's a small vacuum reservoir that keeps a little vacuum available to run the various actuators of the AC system (if so equipped). Ensures that the vacuum driven AC stuff works immediately when you push the AC control buttons even if you're at low manifold vacuum in the engine at that particular moment.

    My TRs got a similar gizmo, but the 308 didn't (since it had/has cable drive for the flaps). Even after engine shutoff on the TR, if you push the AC buttons you can hear the various flaps moving about.
