    Thanks Shanb.

I have pulled out the T/O bearing and found the crack/failure similiar to yours on the new bearing generation.

I did not remove the 4 bolts on the shaft housing in order to remove the T/O bearing.

The triple seals on the shaft looks OK., is it necessary to replace them as well?

I will post my fix soon as I locate a new T/O bearing.

That's good progress Ray. About the triple seals, when were they last replaced? They can look okay and still be worn down enough to leak. I normally replace these whenever I'm there already (not expensive and can be non-Ferrari sourced) and everything is accessible, but if it's not leaking gear lube past these seals then it's your call.

Sounds like fun - my poor 348 is back in Texas stored on jack stands for the next two years. Oh well.

    Hi ShanB

Two years!..by the time you return you might be going through this process again, (hopefully not).

Here is a photo of the triple seals that I will be replacing as well. Please note the 'fourth' larger seal to the right on the next shaft. Did you replace this seal as well? I would say "yes".

Thanks for all your help and best of luck.
