I would like to thank Tillman and the architects at our host that about the same time gave a solution how you could access FerrariChat.com behind web filters that block "chat". I haven't 100% tested it out yet, that will have to wait until Monday. Maybe someone can test it beforehand. Hopefully it works!

Appears all login, browsing, and posting functionality works great. The exception will be hard links that still have www.ferrarichat.com in the address, like the newsletters and some of the other stuff under the Resources tab. I think you'll be fine if you just stay away from the Resources tab. If you do find a link with www.ferrarichat.com you can copy it to the address bar and just change it to the new "safe" domain.

Ok, here's the best part! Maybe not funny to everyone else, but I think it's hilarious and we can create many others too so you're not always using the same domain. Please suggest others, but here is the first...

this is a great idea. Luckily fchat isn't blocked at school (yet)

    :D

It also appears that it is a lot quicker than the regular fchat. I think i'm setting that as my homepage now :D

It might be good to offer a forum skin that doesn't feature the Ferrari Chat logo so prominently or at all.

I'm thinking about a banner-less and image-less skin for Rossa members.

Ohhhh, I get you now. We don't have a way around that now. Don't know if I could change the directory name to something else. Possible.

For me, an address that looked techy would be of great use.

Something along the lines of www.javascriptsupport.com would do the trick :)

Agree about having a bannerless feature. I have to shrink IE down to about 2 inches high to hide the logo!

Don't know yet what we'll do. This feature would remove the sponsor banners, so it shouldn't be available to everyone.

I can't give everything to the Silver users or there would be no reason to be a Rossa. Same thing for Silver over Non Subscribed. I would just have to weigh everything to see where it belongs.

There is one sure solution, just buy the company.

(Thing is, I would bet that over the course of fchat's tennure, at least one person here has done exactly that, largely or at least in part so they could sit on the chat at 'work' :)

Probably be something that would make this non-Ferrari owner actually subscribe, if it was available for the basic subscription option.

ps: I really basic text only view (stealth) mode would be fantastic. While I am fully understanding of the sponsorship requirements, a page that lists the sponsors is where you would go if you wanted to buy something ...

Great idea! Glad it works. We finally... *whew* ditched Websense. It was included in an AT&T managed firewall.

Firefox with the RIP extension is quite useful for customizing the appearance of a web page, if any of you can install other browsers at your work place.
