Well, I just turned 100,000 miles on my '78 308 GTS. I have owned it for about 10 years and put on about 35,000 of those miles. It is still running great, though, I do need to adjust the valves, rebuild the carbs, belts, fluids, and whatnot. I've had an Electromotive DIS unit on it for most of the 10 years and it has performed flawless. I've also have a straight thru exhaust after the cats (I do like clean air) which I believe helps in reducing the engine compartment heat. The belt on the air pump seems to fall off quite often (air doesn't have to be THAT clean) though.

    Congrats!

This is the first 100K mile Ferrari I've heard of in a very long time.

5 digit odometer... you're back down to 0 miles. Had a hyundai like that.. it read 86000 and the way it ran I swore it rolled over at least 4 times.

It makes me flash back to the best car I ever owned.
    A 78 Toyota Corolla.
I purchased it used with around 160K miles clicked off,
then at 310K miles it got a small crack in the head near the #4 exhaust valve.
I purchased a used head from a bone yard, and installed it with a new gasket set and nothing else.
When my at that time "new wife" made me sell it because she thought it was an ugly car, it had just over 400K miles on it.
I sure do miss my ugly metallic brown Corolla.

15 years ago you could buy very good used Alfas from the early 80s cheap, but they were always brown! They were cheap because of the color and good because the first owner must have been an older conservative driver to choose such a color.
That 308 with 100K still has good oil pressure at idle! Mine is at 50K, to get it to 100K would take more than my original purchase price in fuel costs alone.

Good job! My '78 is at about 98,700 right now. I'm going to try to get it to 100K this season. I figure as soon as it rolls over I'm going to advertise it on eBay as the lowest mileage 308 ever ;)

I'm just glad to see there are other cars out there with this kind of mileage. Just goes to show that they really aren't as fragile as a lot of people think!!!
