    I was doing some work on my car wheels today and noticed on the back of the wheels there was some old wheel weight adhesive left on the wheel from a previous balancing. Brother that stuff was stuck!!!. It is necessary to be very careful with the painted wheels because such items as "goop" and various products that contain benzene or toluene will dissolve the clear coat on the wheels, immediately upon application. Eureka, a simple solution is to take some GO-JO hand cleaner, dab on the adhesive, wait about 5 minutes and it comes off pretty quickly. I am sure there are other products out there but this was readily available and had no negative effect on the wheel treatment. Just an observation!!!

    3M adhesive remover.I did it Fri. on one of my other cars.

    I use Googone (at grocery store, citrus based) followed by waxing the area.

    Funny, but those are the three products I have used, WD40, Goo Gone, and 3M Adhesive Remover. All seemed to be about equally effective. I will have to give GoJo a try next time, since I have a dispenser over my garage sink.

    That's a niffty little tip. I'll try that the next time I run into some sticky stuff.

    HEEEEEYYYY, I wonder if it would work on the melting pannel parts?

    Lighter fluid, and it works great on plastic without fear of ruining plastics like GooGone type products do.

    I use lighter fluid all the time to clean glue. Works great.
