Car is 1987 328 GTS - considering change from York piston compressor to Sanden rotary. Understand adapter bracket is available for a 308. Is there any difference in compressor mounting between the 308 and the 328?

I put a Sanden rotary in my 1977 308 GTB. The only difficulty, other than the tight fit, was getting enough slack in the hoses to prevent the fittings from vibrating loose (from engine movement) and leaking freon and fluid. (Ask me how I know!!!). The guy I bought the Sanden from included a bracket and fittings-for extra charge, of course.
    (Steve Carr Auto in Houston).

I would imagine that the 328 would accept this retrofit as well as the 308.
The engine bays looks almost identical. If the York fits, then the Sanden should also, because it's smaller...

Even though the Sanden is smaller than the York , the fit will be tight because, as mentioned, there is little room to move the AC hoses around where you want to make the final "tight" connection to the compressor. See pics of 1980 308GTBi .. and compare to your 328

Let me know if you would like more pics ..

    Yep...

What's a "barrier type" hose connection?

A type of air-conditioning hose that includes a barrier layer on the inside to help prevent the loss of refrigerant through the hose. Barrier hoses are usually required for use with HFC-134a refrigerant.

    Thanks Bryan.

Love your 365! That car is definitely an "unsung" Ferrari.

What part of Houston are you in?
