The car is idling a 3k rpms. Looks like the throttle is sticking a little on the engine. Spray it with WD-40? There's a screw there too... should something be adjusted??

I have a similar problem with my 308. It would start and run OK and then as it warmed up the idle would go to 2000. I thought it was the carbs and took it to the shop and they determined that it had a vacuum leak between the manifold and the head. The pulled the manifold and there was corrosion on the manifold where it meets the head. They added some material to the manifold surface and then milled the manifold. I got the car back and it still does the same thing. So I don't know what's going on with it.

That said, I suggest to see if there's a vacuum leak in your system. Hopefully, you'll get lucky and just have to reconnect a hose.

Good Luck. I can feel your anguish.

I think (hope) that the problem is with the assembly where the throttle cable attaches to the engine. It seems to be sticking.

No kidding...check your floor mats...make sure they are not sliding forward and pushing on the gas pedal. Both my 308 and 328 did this. I little velcro fixed them from sliding forward. Fixed my sudden "high idle" problem!

This happened to mine a couple months ago. It was an easy fix at the throttle cable ( at the throttle body ). I used some motorcycle cable lube and haven't had a problem yet.

Similar to davehanda above, my fast idle was casued from the floor mat moving forward and pushing against the gas pedal.
