HKS needs to get off their asses and build me that supercharger for my RX8!
Sure do, and thanks for asking.... When I bought my car these were the condition of the switches. I've looked after and they aren't available unless you're very very lucky with a wrecker I guess. I've repaired mine, but I'm still nervous. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd like to have an extra 330 hood with a custom scoop to my design, and a 250SWB-style cold air box and velocity stacks on the carbs. I've located a couple of hoods and could get the scoop done locally, could probably fabricate the cold air box myself. All I need are velocity stacks for 40DCZ6 Webers, and individual filters for the stacks. Also, I've got an extra front bumper...the body shop could split it and finish the cut ends and I could get them rechromed. Doing all this would this would give a more aggressive look and sound and add some HP, and everything would be completely bolt-on and reversible. Sounds like I've just talked myself into something. Anyone know where to get velocity stacks?

One of the problems with Ed's belt idea was the toothed cam gears were not exact to the dimensions of the belts. Simply put Ferrari's have plastic toothed cam gears that are "smoothe" & match up with the belts..can you imagine what a metal cam gear will do to a belt if the dimensions are not exact. There was no history/ refinement of the part, for his idea so everyone pretty much shyed away from the idea. He was good source for tech advise however ie:A/C issues solved with Honda parts...
There have been AMAZING advances in belt/gear technology recently. the new goodyear blet used as a final drive on Buell motorcycles has NO SERVICE LIFE REPLACEMENT INTERVAL. Meaning it should last for ever. final drive, exposed to the elements and rocks, dirt, water, mud... handling 100 hp and 70 ft lbs of torque. Talked to Erik Buell about it and he told of tests where the new belt and pully injested metal pellets to no ill effect. If somehting like that can be made, a durable belt/gear can be made for the 3xx series engine... the PROBLEM with doing so is the liability factor. even though you design soemthing to be idiot/condition proof, there are always worse idiots/condistions out there than you bargin for. And munching up a Ferrari engine cuz your belt/gear failed aint cheap. somehting to look into though. Might have to buy a damn Ferrari to use as a test mule. anyone have a ****ebox 308 with a good engine they'd like to sell?
I think some type of improved design window mechanism would be worthwhile. It could be electric or manual as far as I'm concerned. I think the threads for the 308 / 328 / 348 series as well as the 456 series indicate the lack of function in the window mechanisms would be worth improving. You could always box up the original parts to keep them for a future concours owner. BT
Windshield washer bottle cap. Custom cup holder to fit in center console. The "Tee" that always rusts out between the air check valves. A custom box-holder to go where ashtryay insert goes....to hold cell phone, change, etc.
Saratoga was the manufacturer. They are still in business but do not do Ferrari anymore. I have searched for three years for one, with no luck. I saw one on Ebay for $4000, but auction had ended.
Relatively inexpensive, very light weight door and decklid replacements for a 328. The car's just too heavy...
New dashboard background (carbon fiber, brushed aluminum, stainless steel, etc.) and gauge faces in bright red/white and/or dark yellow/white/black (for oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, fuel level, RPMs, and Speed). Think: Enzo-style gauges rather than Halloween orange/black. Gauge bezel cover rings in anodized red, anodized yellow, anodized white, anodized blue, etc. ... Well, you asked what I **wanted**!
Ate a beverage container with the Countach at stupid high speeds on I-8 out of Alpine, Calif three weeks ago. It sounded like a ******* firecracker going off inside the car. The spoiler is toast. I need a new front spoiler and part of the undercarriage; about a foot on a side triangular chunk of the black composite/plastic plate that fits into the spoiler. Also, a Eurospec bumper would be nice while you're at it. A new top for the 308 would be nice. That part always gets beaten up a lot. The 3x8 ideas on this thread are excellent. I second that motion about the lighter doors and aftermarket replacement parts.
