Gary and I are organizing a trip to F1 Boston for Fchatters. We are hoping to get 12 people together to rent the track for a session. Gary is looking into the cost and dates. I'm looking to see how many people are interested. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's an indoor cart track and lots of fun.

I would definitely be interested. I've gone there once before and it was a blast. Let me know what dates you come up with.

Send me a PM by Sept 18 (Sunday) with your preference for a weeknight or weekend. Weekends are easier to schedule as there is league racing during many weeknights. We'd need to arive about an hour early, race for about 1/2 hr, then can hang around the bar for as long as anyone wants. I prefer weekends, but will see where everyone else stands.

Until we get things sorted out, here's their website--lots of good info & video/pics of the facility. (It's near the I-93/Hwy3 interchange south of Boston.)

Probably looking at a mini-Grand Prix format: 4 sessions @ 15-20 laps, first three sessions are random gridding with heat results determining pole position for the final run-off. Each session takes only about 6 minutes, but I guarantee you'll be sweating after your first one and they get run back-to-back.

Before you get your teenagers all excited, note that there are minimum age restrictions (>18).

Ideally, we'd get 10-12 folks to go so we could get the "city course." It's a bit longer and has more elevation change (ie. more fun), but we can run the other side with as little as 8. I think it cost ~$75 for the mini-Grand prix, but I'll confirm later (and see if I can negotiate a discount). If we get more interest, I'll get with them to see what they can provide, but let's start there.

If its a weekend I am in (as long as it doesn't conflict with my travel schedule). Odds are that I know someone else that is not an Fchatter that would be in as well.

At this rate it might be the only event I make this year.

I'd like to come along too - but I wouldn't be interested in a $75 package. Something closer to $30 would be in my range.

Is there a limit to the number of carts allowed on the track and is the fee set for the hour or per person?

Q: is there a limit to the # of carts?
A: For the format we're running, 12 carts on the course at one time. This is the usual limit for their sessions unless you're willing to rent the entire complex for a while ($$$).

Q: Is this fee for the hour or per person?
A: This is $75 per person for the mini-Grand Prix described

    Q: Is there anything cheaper?
A: Look into the Open Racing Session. While it may cost less, it's more expensive per lap. (First session would cost you $40) The m-GP is a great deal.

It's like Lay's potato chips, though, you won't be satisfied with just one. :)

Looks like we have good interest for a weekend endeavour.

Let's plan on Saturday, Oct 8 for a noon session.

I'll make reservations and figure out how to work a deposit w/o hanging myself out to dry.

Send me an e-mail at <[email protected]> if you want to race the mini-Grand prix format mentioned above on the Oct 8.

    Let's go racing!

Going to have to take me off the list. That's the Columbus day weekend and I'll be in Vegas with the girlfriend.

Hope to meet you all some other time!

Gentlemen, I'd consider this an excuse to make the trip to Boston for my wife and son, but I've otherwise occupied on the 8th.

Wow Congrats - fabulous place to get married, I was there with the family just a couple of weeks ago myself.

Just on my PC downloading the pics of the trip - here's one of Bellagio so you can get a flavor of how perfect a location it is to have gotten married!
