    You lucky b**tard! :p

I was suprised they let me (18yo male) go upstairs to look at the Ferrari's with no one following me up. If I lived in Auckland I will be begging you to set me up with a Job (tyre polisher?, sweeper? :p) right now but sadly Im stuck in Palmy...

Just curious, how is the driving in NZ? I'd imagine you guys have alot of open roads. Are the roads heavily partoled? What are the speed limits? Do sheep ever walk out into the road, lol.... NZ is at the top of my list of places to visit.

I've found the people at Continental Cars are friendly too. My husband and I quite often stop in to look at the F-cars. He even sat in the Enzo before they sold it.

Watch out for fixed and non-fixed speed cameras in New Zealand. If you want to go fast stay off the main State Highways, e.g. SH1, and use the back roads. The cops are now using cars like Holdens as mufti cars - watch out for the extra aerials on the cars to tell the difference.

Of course we have some of the most scenic roads in the world. The sheep tend to get out on gravel roads.

Giles3 - I lived in Palmy for 20 years and moved to Hamilton for more money and better lifestyle, because I knew it would be much harder to get a Ferrari living down there. Our local Hamilton MR2 Club has had a couple of club runs with the Ferrari Club as well!

Yeh Palmy isnt the best place to live. After Im finished at Massey I'll be out of here as fast as I can :)

Speed limits in NZ are 100kmph and 50kmph (country/city).
Like SilverSpider said you can go abit faster(alot?) of the side roads.

    If you don't get caught.

Giles3 I was at Massey too. I did a BBS and a Graduate Diploma of Business Studies, plus I have one 200 level computer science paper left to finish my Science Certficate.

I don't remember seeing any Ferraris in Palmy while I lived there. Although one owner may live in the Manawatu.

What was your major? Im thinking of doing that too. Did you enjoy it?

Recently Ive been seeing a few exotics in Palmy. Saw 2 Murcialagos in one week. There is a red 360 which lives in(nearby?) Palmy as that can often be seen, I have also seen a black 360. Saw my first 456 driving here on Friday too.

Although one day in Auckland and you will more Porsches and Mercedes than you will see in a life time in Palmy.

Thanks. Yeh, that was a very nice car. I always though Diablos were one of the more expensive exotics, but this one was only(heh) US$230,000. (Although they are more than likely half that price in the US??)

Yes, the enzo was sold to Lionel Rogers. I am a friend of his son ( Who drives an H2 :p ) The roads are fairly good for driving. However, country roads tend to be heavily patroled... police are rumoured to have a quota system which requires them to issue a certain amount of tickets per week. It is common to see police hiding in bushes etc with speed guns. I find that highway's are the best if you want to go fast, once clear of the city. Ive been 240kmh in a friends porsche along State highway 1 in the middle of the day!

If you want to drive in NZ you really have to know the roads!

Continental Cars is a very friendly dealership indeed, the showroom is open to anyone to go upstairs and have a look around the F-cars. We sell anything Italian :)! Auckland actually has the highest Ferrari ownership in the world per head.

PS. Auckland has far far too many German cars, makes me sick! Where I live, Remuera, I could probably count 20 porsches just looking from bedroom in a single day.

Lionel Rogers? Care to enlighten me to who he is? :)
I always though that it was Colin Giltrap who owned the NZ Enzo?

That looks like a great dealership. I will be in Auckland sometime towards the end of the year and would love to have a look at some exotics. Where in town is the dealership and is there a website?
    Thanks

no specifics but way to much and way to long.

friend of my fathers went in a few months ago ready to place an order, and basically ended up telling them to **** off and took his money to Giltraps and put his money down for a 911.

They're about $150,000 right now. Australia and NZ car prices kill me. I have props for anyone who can make big money in NZ, when I was there there seemed to be the general socialist distaste for building real wealth - just like Canada.

NZ roads are incredible though - I remember great rides from Hamilton to Raglan in an original Mini Cooper, and a Wellington-Hamilton run with a friend's crazy dad in like 5.5 hours in, IIRC, a V8 Holden. Doing 140kph-180kph down the winding country highways was something to be remembered.
