    OK, I'd like to know if anyone has actually replaced their sump covers and oil pick up tubes on their 308s with the newer stuff from the 328? If so, did it fix the oil pressure drop problem, how much did it cost and where did you get the parts?

    P.S. I did search the archives and it wasn't clear from the posts if anyone had actually done it to their own car and what their direct experience was.

    It's been done several times. Posts are in the old fchat.

    Reportes were that just replacing the sump cover w/baffles & the pickup tube did improve the pressure drop on long sweeping turns. However it didn't completely eliminate it.

    Other than a dry sump conversion, many race shops added a ~1" spacer for the sump cover, & extended the pickup tube to match. I have one of those set-ups, have thought about making reproductions.

    Downside of the extension is that it lowers the sump below the rest of the underbody (ie: reduces ground clearance by about 3/4"). It's quite a reasonable thing to do for track only car.

    Since the sump is almost directly between the rear wheels, this isn't too risky for a street car as long as you stay off of roads that may have ruts, & avoid manholes that have been raised for street repaving.
