Hi Guys, I just wanted to let you know how much all your prayers, e-mail, and phone calls meant to me. I happy to say that our baby is finally home. 3 months of hell, living in Scheiders Childrens hospital, one problem following the next. To make a long story short, besides all the complications of being pre-mature (lung disease, brain development, etc etc) the baby almost passed away on July 4th from a bacterial blood infection (gram negative type). A central line surgery was required to have access for IV's since IV's were no longer possible. This was a plastic tube going through his groin all the way almost to his heart. He beat the infection and was found to have a grade 3 (out of 4) brain hemorrhage on both ventricles (this he still has). He had heart surgery to close an opening that required 2 titanium clips to close. This was to stop fluid leaking into his lungs. These clips will be there for life. He had 9 full size staples in is back from the operation. The staples are out, but what a scar. He then had a double hernia surgery as his intestines were coming through where they did not belong. Here is a picture chronology. Again, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Barney, was just thinking abt you and the baby yesterday. I know all about those blood infections, blown IV lines, and emergency surgery... sounds too much like my own son's experiences. May better days lie ahead. God Bless, and thank you for the update!
Barney, This is great news!! Hopefully you can get your lives back to normal now. I can only imagine how difficult this has been. Best to Sue and Gianna. PS. Does "Baby Boy" Guzzo have a name yet?
What a beautiful little guy. So glad to hear that you've made it through what was a very stressful and painful period for you and your family. I wish you and yours all the best as you watch your beautiful children grow while bringing you a ton of pleasure and happiness. Cheers!
This is great news to hear Barney!!! Thanks for the update, and may little Barney live a long, happy and healthy life !!
What can anyone say other than God Bless. Glad to hear that your little fellow had pulled through and I'm sure we all pray that for his sake and yours, the worst is behind him now. Knowing what you've been through and what your little boy has had to endure, it puts the rest of the things we grouse and gripe about in perspective. Here's wishing you, your son and your family all of the best from here on out.
Wonderful news Barney! He is beautiful! Cherish him as he grows and develops. Best to you and your family. John
Barney - So glad to hear things are looking good. Just keep in mind that one day he'll be asking you for the F-Car keys, and all of this will be a distant memory. Best, K-
