I had a great time today. Even though I had to drive 110 miles to get to the starting point and wound up with almost 500 miles total, it was well worth it.
Great selection of upper end exotics and truly a great bunch of people. I met some nice people and the roads were superb. This was one of the best cruises I've been on. I can't wait to see everyone's pictures and video.
For those that didn't go, you missed out on a great time

    Had a great time!

Thanks Ernie. A very well done event with such very friendly people! I've got some pics I'll be uploading.

CGT got busted on the way back. Unfortunate set of circumstances (wrong place at wrong time). Cop didn't want the rest of us so we continued on. :( If anyone knows the result I'd appreciate a PM.

    thanks-

Sorry for the poor quality images. I saw lots of cameras so I'm sure we'll see some better pics from others...

1st ... Here's the cars parked up along the road.
2nd ... Cars gassing up somewhere between Nevada and Yosemite

    >the officer probably just want a closer look at the cgt

    hehe, who wouldn't? :)

This was by far our best drive yet, and without too many hitches. A great group of people, fantastic cars, a great route, great weather, and good food. As we get more information about Michaels (carrera gt's) situation, we'll let you guys know. Sounds like he may have been caught in a "spirited" moment.... Can't wait for the next drive! -Matt (son of yellow 355B owner Mike)

I think all of us we'd agree the Carrera GT came in as the baddest, and the F430 came in as a very close second as well as the LOUDEST. Nothing can compare to the sound of that F430 passing us at 8grand and roughly 95-100. Absolutely insane sound. Almost as if schumacher went by in an F2004. Kevin's viper was making some pretty good sounds as well!

    FYI-
    We started with 17 cars:

    silver Carrera GT
    red 430
    yellow Lamborghini Gallardo
    blue 360
    yellow 355
    yellow 355 (another one)
    blue Ford GT
    white Ford GT
    white Ford GT (another one)
    silver cobra
blue Viper with NOS, supercharger and whole knows what else
red viper (a particularly thunderous one)
    996 tt
lavernder-ish 97 Lamborghini Diablo, only 2 in the world this color
    yellow Lotus Elise
yellow Lotus Esprit with some loud turbo blow-off valves
    barchetta-red 550

A few turned back half way, the rest completed the drive. Guys from the Bay Area logged over 500 miles, the rest of us 310 miles.

Hey matt it was nice tralking to you. Did you order the marshmellow shake? lol

I hope mike got off with a stern warning. It was a tough situation. We were stuck behind a camper who wouldn't yield to cars backing up. As the passing lanes opened up Mike passed followed by Dama in the lotus. I was a bit back and by the time I reached the passing lane the chp (who was hiding on the opposite lanes seperated by a ridge where he was hard to see) had already spotted Mike and was making a u turn into out lanes as I passed by him. He went right by me and dama and went for mike. Not sure if he caught everyone elses speed, but he knew he had a bead on the lead car.
I think he had radar as my V1 went off.

Without going into details on a public forum, it sounds like Mike may have gotten a break. Don't you just love happy endings... Great day yesterday, already itching for the next one but need a good week just to clean off the bugs first!

Man, sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. That's awesome. Congrats on putting together a great run. I wish it were a little closer to the Bay Area but oh well, perhaps next time I'll come anyway.

    Memorable quotes of the day:

Man behind counter at the food joint:
"You guys at the back of the line - the wait for your burgers is gonna be 40 minutes!"

Gassing up for the ride back home, someone observed of the Elise:
"WHAT!? You only needed THREE gallons!?"

Two spectators, in perfect unscripted unison, as the CGT thundered off down the road:
    "Oh man!"

    Man at the gas station:
"So, is this for a magazine or something?"

Chatter at the parking spot atop a twisty hill:
"Dang sport bikes are too slow - was holding me up"

Best sound of the day: Mountain Biker who met us at the top of the hill where we did the fly by... "That sound of your cars in the canyon is the most beautiful sound I've heard."

Worst sound of the day (same spot): Sound of the lotus radiator boiling and gurgling over. Don't forget for the next drive, the lotus still owes me a liter of water.

Ernie, let me know when you have the video. Can't wait to hear the sound. I had a great time. hope to see you guys again soon when I have some new tires. Ernie, thanks for organizing. Mike, glad to hear that it ended ok.

Also, Can I get an original hi res of the Gas & Go pic (even though I went over to the Shell station). It would make a great poster.
