" Great run for the giant Prawn " sprinter... below are pictures... http://www.xok.com/sundaymorningdrive/thumbnails.php?album=38
Great atmosphere Pat. You guys must've enjoyed yourself gorging on those prawns..In Malaysia we have something like the giant prawns and the best place is somewhere in Butterworth, on the mainland across Penang. But it's only about half the size of the ' forearm'. Anyways, my wife and I both love Thai food and we actually take holidays in Thailand just to enjoy your food...glorious food! As usual your Yellowbird stands out as being the best looking 308 I've ever seen, period !
Thank you, I like how you called my 308 a Yellowbird. Here the guys call it Yellow banana, as crazy as how I drive it. I like your call better, ha,ha,ha... There has been some talk about Ferrari club Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand meet in Phuket for a while now. It would be a lot of fun if that could happen. We love to join up with you guys... Phuket would be very nice.
Wow thanks for the offer, but don't think I have the time & energy to drive 1000kms? up north to Phuket. It's quite taxing doing 200Km/h+ for few hours for me not to mention a day. It'll be nice though. Patpong, are those sexy mirrors stock? Where did you get em? You have one of the nicest yellow 308 with GTO style wheels. I'll get it the same specs if I get one.
1000 kms. May be that's why they are still talking... The side mirrors are stock. Original, the color would be black but I thought body color on the mirrors are nice also so I didn't bother to have to repaint to black. The wheels are speedline. I think the trick is to have them at 16" not 17"... here some pics... http://www.xok.com/sundaymorningdrive/thumbnails.php?album=28
you need to , maybe , run some paraflu in your coolant. that'll stop the corrosion. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pat, is that a cab or early injection model u have? How's it compared to a QV? I heard a cab version once & it sound so wonderful. I thought a 308 should be good for daily use. My 348 is too low for most carparks here & when the power comes, it can be quite fast for me.
It's a Carbie. Quartet of Twinchoke Downdrafts Weber...naked. The snuffling sounds of carburettors especially when the butterflies open are as good as it gets. If only our atmosphere allows the use of open and polished Trumpets safely..it'd be a sight to behold and extra nice sounds too.
Yes, It's the carb, 76 right after the fiberglass model. It's fast enough for enjoyable driving. It might be not as fast in acceleration as the newer models with larger displacement. But I can keep up with them during the sprint ok, and even surprised them sometime. But the sound is wonderful. It's original with Ansa. It's what Tubi in the newer model wants. At idle, the sound comes in rhythm of deep sound, you feel it in your chest. When accelerate, the sound is overwhelm. When decelerate, you hear the popping sound, wonderful. Remember this 308 model years is designed with performance as priority, not with laws and regulations as priority. The ultimate of all sounds should be something like the V12, six carb, Daytona... The symphony of automobile.
Wow, what you've said really excites me! Must visit you & see the car when I'm in Bangkok again. Currently, my 911 3.0 flat six with M.Miglia muffler sounds as good as it gets & converting it to Carbs would be interesting. My 348 with sports exhaust has a higher pitch. Both quite pleasing to the ears. Unfortunately, there's few guys left here who knows how to tune multi-Carbs properly. If I get hold of one, I will polish all those carbs like musical instruments fit for a symphony!
Sure we get together for a drive in town nearly every weekend. You can come and join us. PM me. Please don't convert anything to carbs. I don't think that's a good idea just to get the sound.... buy a carb 308. The guys to tune multi-carbs are very rare here as well. Some don't quite agree with others. I have been to four different guys who claim to be the wizard of carbs setting,.... smelling the exhaust gas and tell you the mixtures, hearing the sound up close and from a distance to tell you the right setting, all sorts of strange ways to do it... At the end, Ferrari Thailand for me.
Yap, will PM you when I'm up again. I'll only convert my old 911, there's so much you can do to it & won't break the wallet. I was toying with carbs in my school days on my bikes. All the jets, porting, air, diff plugs/gaps etc.
I missed that sprints....still slapping myself in the head. I went to track day instead...ha ha Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yea, but you enjoyed the track more ha... Your CS must have been a hero among the Japaness runners...
