Or a better question...who wants to pick me up from school on their way to Summit... Unfortunately I probably wont be able to make it unless ^^ above works out. ALSO: better luck Tom in getting their safely this time
I'm in. I was at FoW this morning and Allie said they had 75 cars registered! There were all sorts of Track cars sitting around and I think people are really jacked to be on the Main Circuit. It going to be great
There were several Challenge cars and I think a 512 BB LM will be there. Im sure Allie will have the F40
I hope they also bring the Maserati Trofeo lite. Redding said it was ready but would not verify it's attendance. I was hoping to see it last year and now that it's no longer racing what could be the excuse??? Bob S.
I'll be there with my 360 and my friend and his brother is bring vanquish and 355. this should be fun track event. see you guys tomorrow.
I'll be there til about 1 pm monday. just spectating though, I am anxious to see all the cars, and meet some new people.

What an exceptional day yesterday was. My 355 officially turned 30,000 miles somewhere between Turn 2 and the Karussel. The weather was perfect and the the cars were great. Like Allie says a bad day at the track beats a good day at the office! I'm just sorry I came home to watch the Skins game but at least they won. There were a few offs the most serious being a Maser that appeared to be totalled from contact with the tire barrier. We believe the driver is ok but it was a huge hit. The driver had done other track days and my buddy and I had just commented that he was really going fast and driving well. Tom: Great Pictures! Is that your GT 40? That thing just made this great snuffling roar gathering up speed out of turn 10. I think more people commented on that car than any other there.
Wow, awesome pictures. I forgot my camera, and tride to use my cell phone...didnt exactly turn out as good as those pics...
Word I got from one of the FoW guys is that the car is totalled. Driver is ok (though probably very sore), had done "a couple" of other track days, and probably was going really fast. But as for "driving well"? Well, talk to the instructors before making any judgements (but I'm not an instructor, so I can't say, but the words I heard were "in over his head"). Feel bad for the driver, but at least he's ok. Still a fun couple of days. The real point that I hope folk take away here is that, if you have fewer than a dozen or so track events under your belt, check your ego at the door and take the instruction. When I was on the track, it was with the knowledge that I still had to drive the same car home. No one wants their car to wind up like that Maserati. IMHO, being safe *IS* being smart. FWIW.
Great pics! How fast does a 355 or 360 go on Summit Point? Having driven a Ford GT, I'd guess it would easily get to 150 or so on the long straight. Even a good driver might get caught out of shape by the much higher speeds at the track. I wonder how many wrecks they have every year at Summit Point.
The Ford GT is faster than the Ferraris, and was specifically tested against the mark. So, if he was trying to keep up with you, he would have been in over his head.
"The Ford GT is faster than the Ferraris" On paper, I assume you mean, as compared to say the 360 ... at a trackday event, relative speeds are going to depend on the driver.
