First of all , MASSIVE thanks is due to Mike @ QV London for fixing my hood. There were a number of problems relating to rams and micro switches in the rams, further probs with pipes and hydr. fluid. Luckily, Mike had used parts to replace the faulty ones.
I was gobsmacked at the prices of replacement parts when presented with the Ferrari parts catalogue. See pic attached. Number 1 is the main R/H bottom ram which must be sold as 1 single unit. It includes the ram itself , pump and pipes. Number 2 is the L/H side top ram. Number three is the valve switch.
Answers pls for retail prices on parts 1,2 & 3?

    and a testacle.

If a drivers side windscreen wiper costs £330 plus vat....I'd hate to think what the cost for that lot is.

    £2,600 total?

PS. Your car needs some Zymol.

Will you lot pack it in?

If I want to read a horror story, I'll buy a Stephen King novel!
Some of us may face this in the future, and like death, it's not a subject I care to dwell on!
I was planning a good nights' sleep tonight, and now you've buggered that up!

Just for the hell of it.....my guess is........
less than a days' earnings for top city brokers like TonyH:D

Is it really worth having an electric hood on a 355? after all the actual movement is minimal! with most of the operation being done manually (unclipping the header rail, moving it back considerably until it "beeps"!) what a bl**dy load of nonsense!. Why didn't Ferrari save the bother and keep it fully manual as on the 348! Now the 360 roof, now that is a "proper" electric roof!
With all those pumps, rams and hoses the 355 roof just seems totally unessescary!

    Leyton , couldn't agree more .
Clive , luckily for you and other Spider owners, Mike will attempt to get my old rams and switches reconditioned as this prob will deffo happen over time to other cars. Failing that, he'll try and design micro switches that are not buried in the actual ram itself! Good job, Ferrari. Not.

Anyone want to know real price ?

its not just ferrari who charge what they want ,all the italian car parts are like this, some small part that is quite easily made can often have a stupid price and then you will come across some part quite big and have quite a few parts in it and you think it will be mega bucks and can be reasonable price ,but it dont often happen though,i sometimes think why they bother to make some parts because youll never buy them at some of the prices they charge, italians dont you just luv em!
