    Little light under clock/oiltemp panel. Anyone know how it is switched on?

    That's not a light per say. It is an electrical socket to plug in the emergency light that most do not have in their tools with the car. You can find that emergency light on Ebay from time to time.

    And if I'm not mistaken, it's always "hot"--so it should always be on (i.e. you can always get power if you plug something in regardless of ignition key position).
