    Wow. Thanks for the replies.

I would definately agree that the Wally 118 is right up there with the Enzo in styling at least!

Got to agree with Pete on the Baglietto.
    I might be a bit biased though:D

This is incredible. (to me anyway)

First, when I started this thread, I didn't realize that Ferrari boats were featured in Velostrada this month.

Secondly, I had never even ~heard~ of a Wallypower 118 before this thread and a couple of F-chatters suggested that it would probably qualify for most "Enzo" like styling in the boat world. I was working out in the gym this morning, watching the Discovery Channel's "7 Wonders of the Mega-Yacht" show when, low and behold, they feature a Wallypower 118 on the show. When the got around to mentioning the styling of the craft, what vehicle do they cut to a few seconds of video of......? You guessed it! The Enzo.

I believe the narrator's word were something along the lines of: "Do the angled lines and the massive intakes on the side of the Wallypower remind you of some serious horsepower? Something from Ferrari perhaps?" [cut to Enzo]

I was laughing so hard to myself, I almost fell off the excercise bike!!

Did anyone else catch the show? It featured some IN-CRE-DI-BLE yachts, mega-yachts, floating cities. Wow-weeee.

    Mike

P.S. - I been busy lately but I'm still googling the other boat names listed on this thread and checking them out! Thanks F-chatters.

If you really want something different........... treat yourself to a 36-40' Eliminator or Skater catamaran ........... no comparision to a V-Hull at all, not even close.

I've had many a V in my day, and once you've gotten into a Cat there is no going back. (and if you want a V-hull, Cig, Fountain, Outerlimits....)

    How about Bayliner!

    Just kidding of course!

    Scarab, Fountain, Cigarette, Formulas (maybe)

Donzi is fast and italian made....however, I don't think they are quite at the "exotic" level and price of the first three mentioned above (exclusing the bayliner of course).

Oh man, Bill. I watched that trailer. Wow.

Those boats can fly (some literally). It seems like they need a wing or some aerodynamic feature on the nose of those boats to keep them down on the water. I don't know a lot about boats and even less about high speed boats, but I would imagine that you would have more drag but greater control if you kept you hull more in the water. Just my observation. If I was going 135+ in the water, I'd be happy with more control.

My vote has to go to any of the Donzi "classic" series. These boats are superb performers, powerful smooth and drivers boats (basic creature comforts only..some don't even have windscreens). Like a Ferrari they turn heads..you cannot go out without someone commenting or talking to you about it. They are also superb quality (mine is 37 yrs old and the hull is still in great shape). The same basic models have been in production now for over forty years which should tell you something about whether it is a winner. Anyway if you're in the market do yourself a favor and test drive one of these. No I don't work for Donzi just enjoy my "sweet 16".
    My 2 cents worth. Blaine.
One other factor I forgot but that is relevant in this age of hyperinflated gas prices is that mine (GM 350 V8 powered) is actually very good on fuel consumption compared to other boats I've owned and friends' boats.

I wouldn't rank Scarab in the "exotic" category. They are pretty average in terms of fit, finish, quality and performance. And, they are not produced anymore (since about 3 years ago, they couldn't sell them). There are many, many v-hull builders that rank ahead of Scarabs (Formula, Donzi, Nortech, etc). With Baja's new custom order program, I'd also take one of those over a Scarab.

As for your comments on Donzi, have you seen the 38ZR? That's pretty darn exotic, and winner of the F2 Championship.

In my opinion, here is how the v-hull boats rank:

    1. Outerlimits
    2. Cigarette
    3. Fountain
    4. Formula
    5. Donzi
    6. Nortech
    7. Active Thunder

    Cats:

    1. MTI
    2. Skater
    3. Nortech
(nobody else matters in this class)
