I have an '03 360 with 1800 miles on it, The light comes on and stays on although there is nothing apparently wrong, oil pressure fine, water fine etc. Engine is running like a top. Any ideas? Is it ok to keep driving?Called the dealer, they said no big deal, don't worry bring it in whenever. Any thoughts or advice (from those that own or have owned 360's please)
    Thanks for your help

On some newer cars if the gas cap is not placed back correctly ( tight seal ) the check engine light comes on. It happened in my Lexus RX330. I just unscrewed the gas cap and put it back on and wammo the light went out. Give it a try first before spending $$$$ at the dealer. If that is not it then I'm lost.

I undid and refastened the gas cap several times, no help. However, I needed gas last night, I have been driving quite a bit, I had a bit of trouble filling the tank, the pump kept shutting off, however when I was able to fill the tank the light went off and has stayed off. I recently bought the car, it had been driven an average of 50 miles a month, I have put on 300 in 10 days, my conclusion is that the car needed to be driven with all systems working as they should, maybe not scientific but at least for now the trouble light is out.

Definitely drive the thing - 50 miles a month! thats useless! I drive mine to work at least once a week in the summer and that's a 50 mile round trip, 9K so far in not much over a year in my CS.

But in response to your actual question :) I had to have both ECUs replaced on my '02 360 with repeated CELs - no symptoms otherwise, its a typical 360 problem - if you search you'll find lots of threads on this issue. I have had a CEL on my '04 CS, but that was because the gas cap separated from the seal, no problem since its been replaced.
