    After a long search, and many years of lusting after one, I just took delivery of my F40, 1992, 1140 miles, serial number 92336. While I have always admired the shape and aesthetic beauty of the car, and marvelled at its raw race nature, owning the vehicle and living with it have been on a totally different level of pure pleasure. What a beast, what an absolutely amazing beast !

    Ruf, CONGRATULATIONS! Perhaps better than anyone else who responds, I think I know how you feel at the moment. I saw a new one on a showroom floor 14 years ago or so and have lusted after the car ever since. Mind if I join your celebration? Here's my F40, new to me as of last week, a '91 with 222 miles on the odo when delivered (over 300 now, and counting):

    Every drive is such an experience....and once its over, its like coming down from an adrenaline rush.

    congratulations to both of you, well done guys. you obviously deserve the cars after waiting this long.

    if i might add yet another story, similar to this one, only not quite as happy. ever since my dad was 9 years old (in 67) his one and only dream car has been a 1967 shelby mustang GT500, black with white stripes. he lusted for years for it, and one day back in december 1990 he went to a place nearby that had exactly that for sale. he and my mom debated it, and new years day she told him he should get it. so 2 weeks later hes talking to the salesguy just about to head to the office to fill out the paperwork and take ownership of the car. about an hour to the point of where you guys both were when you took delivery. so he called my mom to let her know and she was at home and had just found out she was pregnant, with who is now my younger sister. because of the kid, my dad decided on not buying the car. to this day he doesnt have the car but it is no less his dream car then it was when he was 9 years old.

    my younger sisters name is shelby

    First of all, Congratulations. You Definitely bought a BEAUTIFUL car. I know that for a fact. I use to own that car For 3-4 years. It was probably the Nicest F40 PERIOD. Alot of F-Chatters who knew (my F40). will testify!!!! I would love to talk to you and give you a bit of "MY" history with that car. PM me your Phone #.

    Armen, during what years did you own that car...? i don't see a four year history gap until 1999 when the car was for sale Newport Autosport...

    Beautiful car, beautiful garage. What ceiling height do you need for the lift? Heck of a lot easier than building another garage.

    I'll have to look back at the spec sheet for the Autolifters M6....I think it was 13 ft ? Not sure, but I'll find out...

    Glad to see you're putting miles on the beast !

    Considering the Volk wheels and short front end, I would assume it's the expensive Honda. :)

    Congrats on the F40. Looks amazing, and i'm surprised at how super low the mileage is on some of these. A bit of a shame IMO, but hopefully you will enjoy it on the road more than the previous owners.
