my local guy who gets trick bits in from around the world has told me some figures on the CS via an ECU upgrade. 425 HP to 471 HP and 373Nm to 429Nm.
thats pretty impressive figures and well worth the $5000 AUD approx if true . has anyone heard of the company. i googled them and it looks legit. i know there are many here with CS's that are looking for extra HP and torque. i look forward to your comments
    thanks

    Hi Roger,

WOFTAM I reckon. Even allowing for the need to comply with emissions laws and engine longevity issues, there is no way Ferrari would leave that much on the table.
Ask them if they will give you your money back if a dyno run before/after mods doesn't produce their claims. Guarantee the answer will be no!

I too would be very doubtful.
I have heard claims like this before.
They never seem to amount to much, especially when you are starting from an already highly developed motor.

i was going to do that with an independent dyno guy as the guy selling the software has his own dyno . could he juice the figures???

They can be juiced. Are you sure he is truly independent?

Sorry but there is NO way....in MY very humble opinion. The CS barely puts out 390hp in standard guise - let alone 425hp. So to get it to 471hp without radically modifying the hardware is bullsh1t....
But I could be wrong.... would just love to see the evidence mate.

I'll tell you what they do, and trust me, i invested in the business a while ago.

    It's basically pure BS.

    They take (for example)
for regular engines +15% Hp, +10% torque
for turbos +20% hp, +20% Torque

    It's ****.

Ferrari already strugles to get 425 hp out of the CS, no way it could push 470 hp....
    No way.
Or you would have to make some serious BIG job in the engine, not just a ECU swap.

    IMO,

modifying the ingnition timing etc; will NOT lead to anything close to that power level, if the chip however doesnt care about the safe rev limit, it might be able to do this revving to 9500+ for a short period of time. the engine thus beccomes a grenade.

I hear that these motors commonly run to over 10K rpms at the factory in dyno testing.

Considering the CS already makes an incredible 118hp/l, I'd cry if some no-name company from Australia managed to get 132hp/l out of a naturally aspirated engine.

judging by the name "schmitt kraftfahrzeugtechnik" I would say they are a German company, not Australian.

me thinks the figures from ferrari are a bit rubbery...as is the weight diff from a CS and normal 360. the CS is not 110kg lighter. maybe 50 tops
