328 water pump replacement

    Help...4 bolts removed and 3 stud nuts removed. Problem..can not seem to dislodge water pumpcover with assembly from the water pump body. Rubber mallet will not dislodge it. Are 3 studs interfering with removal of pump housing? How can I get the pump out?

    The 308 and the 328 pumps are about the same, so three studs and four bolts are it. What's holding you up is the corrosion from the coolant keeping the water pump glued to the studs and not dislodging itself.

    Pound a little harder, soak it in some rust-free spray, or use heat.

    Thanks, now that you mention it, I can see the corrosion around the stud
