i've seen a few 97s asking in the high 90s. they're out there. i don't know what drugs the gusy with 550s asking 145 are smoking - but maybe they'll share with the buyer as part of the high price ;-) . same rules apply, of course. recent service, full records, etc. they're out there. doody.
I got a great one. spent a little on normal wear and tear items, but the car itself is a REAL bargain at under $100K.

It may take a while to find the perfect car but my own direct experience during a 6 month search this year for a 550 suggests the following actual (not asking) prices from private parties and non-factory dealers: 97/98's $95-105k 99 $110k-115 00 $120-125k 01 $130-135k The assumptions tied to the above are: US car, Excellent interior/exterior condition and NO painwork, full service history with all records/books, RECENT T-BELT SERVICE, keys/tools, and, appropriate mileage for model year, i.e., under 27k for 97/98; under 22k for 99; under 17k for 00, under 12k for 01. BTW: It is absolutely worth the effort...
Yellow 550s tend to sit for a long time. I actually like the color even on a 550, but many people dont. Go figure.
I happen to love the yellow but I aggree it seems to be a bit dated on some cars. I think personally it comes off a bit flashy but then again what is a Ferrari.
