Quite frankly any doc who says that is full of ****. Yes, stimulants can be dangerous when used innappropriately. If you have a heart condition, don't take stimulants of any kind, period. If you have a history of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, or heat illness, don't take stimulants and play in the heat. If you have a history of heat or heart problems, don't be dehydrated and take a stimulant... Don't drink alcohol, not eat, be out of shape while attending spring training in the heat and take stimulants... Stimulants don't cause heart attacks, stupidity does.

Someone eats complete ****, doesn't exercise and plaque builds up in their arteries over 20 years... They continue to do that and then take a stimulate and shocker... they have a problem. Was the stimulant responsible for their heart attack? NO... It was their 20 years of living unhealthy that caught up to them.

Blaming red bull or ephedrine or any other stimulant (or stimulant in the product) that has been used safely by people for Thousands of years is completely irresponsible, IMHO. That would be like having an exotic car, not maintaining it and having a break line blow out eventually, causing you to crash. Rather than blame yourself, you would do the thing that everyone likes to do more than ever... Fail to take responsibility, and blame someone else... Blaming beneficial stimulants (when used responsibly) is like a mechanic walking around telling everyone that brake systems that use break fluid are dangerous... "wrecks in a bottle".

    Sorry for the rant. ;)

But admit, there could be more done to let the public be aware of the affects of stimulants. There is no warning on the "cans". Make it like cigarettes these days, have the warning in clear view....

Red Bull = Money and Profit before compassion..

Having a warning wouldn't hurt, but does become a slippery slope. What conditions do you list and which do you not list? Should every styrophome cup of coffee from Dunkin' Donuts or every Venti Latte from Starbucks list out warnings? How many warnings should they list.

It's already started with the women that bought a hot coffee in the drive through at McD's and with NO COVER put it between her legs and drove off. Shockingly, she burnt her thighs... I don't know how that could have happened. There should have been a warning on the cup. She certainly would have read the cup and if it said "do not put between your legs, especially with no cover, especially when driving" then she would have avoided the incident. After that Dunkin Donuts turned down their temps and put warnings on their cups.

IMHO, no matter what the warning is on the label, someone will do something that defies common sense and say "that wasn't on the label as a warning". It becomes hard to draw the line.
