I own an 01 550 with the barchetta wheels. I feel the look of the car is compromised because the rear wheels are too far inside the wheelwells, would improve with spacers but I undesstand the front and rear track where designed that way for a reason. how will my handilng be affected if I put spacers on my rear wheels to get them closer to where they look good

Spacers on both cars. No adverse effects at all. Same as putting wheels with different offset on in rear. May drop rear spring rate a little with longer lever arm in geometry, but really hasn't changed it much IMHO. I drive very hard, and it really has helped, plus it looks great. Mike has taken nice pics of the SA, and here is the pair.

My Maranello is an 01 with same Barchetta wheels as your car. I posted another pic I found of mine of rear of Shark. Evosport has them.

Took my 550 (with spacers) out the other day and I don't even think about them, the car looks great and it turns in great, well balanced, no problems.

The 575 looks sweet. Are you going to lower it at all?

I agree, the wider rear track looks better than the standard set up on an 01 550. What width, and whose spacers did you use or is this simply the normal factory set up for an SA with 19" wheels?

I used H&R spacers from Evosport. 15mm each, 30mm total. Stock Superamerica is like 550/575. Wheels tucked way into wells. They need to be out, where they belong.
Stephen, I probably will lower it, it still is settling a little. My Maranello is down a bit, as you can see. I use them a lot, so I can't go too nuts. Damn brakes are amazing. Actually used them hard enough to smell them a little today. No dust. At all. I need a set on the Shark.

WOW!! that is all i can say.... i wasn't too crazy about the SA-- until now. thought i preferred the lines of the maranello, but now i'm definitely having second thoughts. and that color is AWSOME! looks SO much better than all the red press and magazine photos.

A STUNNING CAR! very, very nice choice.

We supply a large number of independent shops with spacers & bolts and the most common sizes that we supply for the 550 are 25mm on the rear (Hill Part No.WS025) and 15mm on the front (Hill Part No.WS015) - 30mm on the rears will also work but is purely down to preference.

They are also always kept in stock :)

Can someone give us the technical reason for the wider track in the front? I know I read it at one time and I think it had something to do with understeer.

    Thanks

I installed 25mm spacers on the rear and no spacers on the front. From an aesthetic stand point the car looks perfect. Installing 15mm spacers on the front would bring the front wheels out too far. I guess this all depends on the offset of the aftermarket wheels I am running.
