Just something I'm curious about. Having read the usual sources about how some later 348's had wider track width i.e. speciales (US) and spiders, but not others (GTB/GTS), I'm curious whether the width increase was limited to just the US market on the spiders? I had always thought the wider track was on all spiders, but was recently told it was only on US cars. How much rear track width was added? Was anything done to the front?
I have about 15 different manuals of the 348 on my pc. Just checked to be sure what I already knew. It was 5cm in total (each side 25mm) at the rear for the spiders, nothing on the front. As I noticed the same issue for the EU spiders.
Thanks, that's interesting. I have a RHD 348 Spider, and visually, it appeared not have such increased width. I have since added 25mm each side at the rear and 15mm each side at the front. Could be another case of the manuals not being accurate perhaps?
Can others with US and EU 348 Spiders add to this, stating whether theirs have narrow or wode rear track pls? I'm really curious to know now Jas
