Will tune in for the FChat race version of Riggs/King* match. I'm sure we can get Varsha, Matchett and Hobbs to cover * A 70's tennis game match of the sexes for the pop-history impaired
Hmm, a real challenge on the table and inheritance money goes quiet. Signed, An international egotistical user PS. I don't play God. That's Sfumato's role.
We were busy chasing other trolls. Her number only came up this week. Sorry, short on staff around here...
Skilled labor is lacking. I've got semi-skilled labor by the truckload, but it doesn't do much good in troll hunting...
As I expected, this thread got quiet in a hurry. Let me up the stakes and see if I can draw the mouth out of hiding: The money goes into escrow. The winner gets their money back. The loser's money goes towards a Hurricane Relief fund and is donated in the winner's name. and to make this truly interesting .... the loser gets a LIFETIME ban from F-Chat. Two people enter, one must leave. (Rob Lay - would you enforce this provision?) So how about it, ready to pick a date?
Gee Rob, no wonder she hasn't responded. What is she going to DRIVE? You didn't offer to have her car shipped here. You didn't tell her about her overnight accomodations. What about food? With all of these important things going unmentioned, how could she be expected to give you the courtesy of a reply?
Dang, I just found out about this thread tonight! Entertaining to say the most. Peter, I know you intend well, but you sometimes just cause more problems. Remember, your perspective of money as a successful business owner and living in Cali is much different. Your name is back on the "list". Maybe I should just make Curvacom LLC numbers public so there wouldn't be so much speculation? I'll tell you what I can... Curvacom LLC lost money in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Showed first profit last year in 4 digits. Not bad I must say. However, numbers don't look as good when you consider my lack of expenses. Sure I have a host, advertising, and some travel expenses. I have no employees, my "office" is in my home, there are no CoGS, and I take no income. I don't know where that profit went I had to pay taxes on, but it wasn't in my bank account end of year. Maybe I need to account for my expenses better? To end. It is common knowledge I want to do Curvacom LLC full time. That would start with FerrariChat.com, FerrariAds.com, and AviatorChat.com. To do it full time I would have to replace my current income not with just revenues from the business, but cleared profit. If this was back in 1996 when I just got out of college there would have been much less money to replace. Unfortunately from a replacement perspective I have 10 years in my career, an added MBA, and I'm at the top of my field for what I do. My salary has been at the national maximum for my role since 2001. I'm not bragging, but if I want to do Curvacom LLC full time it better start making money! As also said before I'm going to grow this business the right and ethical way. I'm not going to shut off the board to non-subscribers all of a sudden to force subscriptions. I'm not going to get greedy and raise sponsor rates 50% a year. In fact, I haven't raised sponsor rates in 2 years, I have just decided to allow more sponsors to offer our users more choices. On the user side I'm going to keep the current model the same, there are things I could do to force more subscriptions, but I would rather just concentrate on having the best online Ferrari community in the world and the numbers should eventually work out. Users won't be put out, sponsors won't be put out, don't be jealous that someday I might be able to live my dream job. I've worked my ass off and will continue to do so, in fact, if I could do this damn job full time I would be able to offer much more back to the community. Thanks Peter for the can of worms! rob "baby sitter" lay
Wow, I missed all this. ANY DAY dude! Remember Ive grown up at Roebling Road Raceway, an 8-turn 2 mi race course & have raced autox w/ lots of set-ups. I can hang it out pretty good on a road course in a 911 as in the Porsche schools I've done here. Can you? Come on down here & show me your stuff.
As an observer, I'm amazed that he offered to pay your way out to Motorsports Ranch and, if you were to win add $2500 to the pot, and you successfully ducked the challenge by simply telling him to head to where you are? If you were the least bit confident of your ability (any car you choose vs. his 911???) I can't imagine you would turn that down, yet somehow you deftly managed to miss the giant red blankey he was waving in front of you, and got the sword instead... ole'
Hey Muffin, Why don't you make good on your threat to sue me over a .gif I posted first before you start your "my penis is bigger then your penis" stunts?
Venus, the challenge is in Dallas, not at Roebling. I guess your reading comprehension SAT scores weren't that high...
Roebling Road is the simplest, most boring road course at which I've ever competed. You don't build your skills on tracks with third gear corners and no elevation changes, darling.
I side with Rob with this issue. As a single admin running a site of this size, it definately takes quite a few resources. Hosting cost for starters, plus a bulk of time monitoring the board for TOS violations. A stable host with the ability to hande a large scale forum would run at least a few hundred dollars a month, and most likely require the purchase of a dedicated server machine (for co-location type hosting). This site is definately an asset to F-car owners and any profit made by the admin running it shouldn't be an issue. Running a site like this is considered a job, and one should be payed for doing such a job. I look forward to becoming a subscribed user.. when i'm not broke that is.
Well, in seeing the direction that this thread took, it probably kept my Avitar T-Shirt in the closet one more time!!!!
