Here's a 512BB that looks like it might be a nice car. Anyone familiar with the car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4579285088&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1
Skip it. Too few pictures that are too far away and WAY too little info offered by someone with no feedback. Too risky for my $70,000
He's dumping his 348TS as well....."quick sale".......someone in FL go check it out! Could be sleeper! Just because he joined eBay last week....
Recent major, with belts........c'mon', looks good to me! *checking wallet, moths fly out* Here's a Benjamin..... left from the Katrina Benefit, that's all I got this week......
This could be a great car (although great Boxers are truly few and far between). Who knows? Lots of people have Ferraris who don't spend their days in Ferrarichat like *some* of us do. If I were in the market and serious, I'd make a few calls to the guy and arrange a trip to see it before forking over $70k+ anway. Ken
Back in 2000, this car had 166,000 miles on it... Ownership history looks like it could be correct... Ask this guy when he bought it, from whom, what he knows about the car and what's the deal with the mileage...
So Carbon, I was RIGHT?????? This was the Chicago car, sold by "Ken, Sr." offered on ebay, it stiffed around $42K...didn't meet reserve ...it was pretty ragged trim wise as well but had an engine done by a good Indy area race shop, or something.......Traco??? There were tons of pics at the auction, full disclosure of mileage, but I think you are wrong it was 180Km, around 110,000 miles........something like that.
VIN # matches that "Ken Sr." sale, Carby???? That'd be the THIRD time around for the odo, if so...........
We don't have the person's first name listed, just the first initial... Which happens to be a 'K'... in Illinois...
It's good to know a Boxer can go 180,000 miles! Not that most will, even over the next 50 years. I think mine, over it's life, has averaged about 775 miles/year.
LOL...! Even if it WAS you, you would just be on the receiving end of many congratulations for using the car the way it was intended... It's the current seller who seems to be keeping some things in the dark...
I emailed asking for larger pics and got this response, for what it is worth; Those are all I have Thank You. The paint is original, and in very good condition, has a few small rock chips on the front nose. The best part about the car is it's sound and the performance aspect.
I kept the ebay write up, after the "No Sale", it listed the phone number and his name, I dunno if he was the owner but he handled the ebay offering......
The engine was tight and it WAS original paint in excellent shape, only the miles (Or KM) was the killer......... Andreas went and looked at it, IIRC, took tons of good pics, maybe he still has them.........
He did & he owns it. But it is trashed! He really uses the car & last I heard the interior was pretty shredded.
