I have a Euro spec 512TR fitted with Tubi test pipes, I have to keep the oxy sensor and the cat thermocouple connected or the car will shut down, this is I think a problem only Euro cars have. However my problem is that the little black box that the thermocouple plugs into has gone wrong and the replacement cost is from Ferrari £700 ($1250) !! As I dont even have cats this is a little galling, does anyone know if theres a way of bypassing this control unit,or is there an alternative supplier. the one fitted is made by Digitek of Italy, many thanks for any help

If the "little black box" only has the thermocouple as an input signal (and not the O2 sensor signal), have you tried just unplugging the defective "little black box"?

(If it is also where the O2 sensor plugs in, I wouldn't do this -- even if it seems to work.)

Alternatively, if you can provide the corresponding 512TR schematic, I'd be glad to review it, and see if there is an easy way to disable the "shutdown" function.

The box has two connectors, one is from the thermocouple the other I suppose goes to the main ECU, I'm afraid I dont have a schematic, just the handbook which is of little help,sorry..............

If I unplug the thermocouple I get the 1-6 cyl lamp light up and that bank shuts down.............

I mean try unplugging the connector that goes to the main ECU from the black box (not the thermocouple).
