Yeah, this is always a question that makes me cringe, especially within the first 5 minutes of meeting someone. IMHO it's plane rude. The big difference I've found is what social situation I'm in. I prefer events where I'm never asked about what I do or who I may/may not be connected to. I prefer it that way as people acknowledge you and talk to you normally without any pretence. It easy to spot people on a pyschophant hunt. F***ing noters. I also recognize the fact that a lot of people ask "what do you do" to create conversation. I'm still not a fan of that. There are polite ways to find out interesting things about people. I always let someone volunteer what they do and will often ask more about it then if they are interested in talking about it.
Obviously if you have a car such as a ferrari, you have achieved a certain level of financial stability regardless of your educational background. Unless you're one of these 30k millionaires(which there are no shortage of) you have to be pulling in a decent amount to be able to comfortably own a car like this. So my question to you all is this. What exactly do you do for a living, and how old were you when you finally bought your first ferrari? I just graduated college with a degree in sports nutrition, and im working on a few different business ideas. Hopefully one of them will take off...
I sell the rock. I was 18 when i got my first ferrari. kidding of course. hate to bust yer bubble but don't expect too many serious responses.

ok, on the age thing yes.. i just searched for that... this question has been asked. How about in regards to peoples careers? o is that something people generally dont like to share
why do people get offended when someone asks them what they do for a living? maybe i'm on a different page here, but it seems like a legitimate question.
There is also a thread on how old people are when they bought their fcar. As for the career thing....you not gonna get any answer pal. Its like asking a woman how old is she.
the career thing has been asked as often as the age thing. it's all in there, and it's all garbage doody. PS: i'm a first-class pimp machine. finest honies around. if you're in new england lookin' for a hot time, i'm yo man.
i guess i was raised differently. i apologize for offending anyone... i personally wouldnt have any problem sharing that information, if anything it may open other avenues and networking opportunities. sorry.
This thread is what you're lookingfor, its recent too... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=77410 Anyway, for the newer Fcars would you guys want the 6 speed or the F1?
we're not tryin' (well, not entirely tryin') to be *******s. these topics really have come up repeatedly over and over and over again and folks are pretty tired of them. if you look at the old career threads you WILL find many honest and useful responses. also check out the "Consultants" link in the "Resources" menu above (it's two over from the SEARCH link ). hang around for a while. get to know folks. people are happy to share and help. doody.
Its exactly what the honorable Mr Doody says and Mr D., I suppose you're using the same word I was going to use, d**kheads?
i think owners are put off by that question because the conversation is no longer about the car, but now about the owner... Bill Hart (a member here) said it best when he said he'll give someone a serious answer if they're asking about the market value of the car and how much a similar example costs, because the person is obviously interested in the CAR... But when you see a nice car and say, "Wow, dude, nice car...!" and the next thing out of your mouth is "So what do you do for a living...?", people get put off by that because the conversation clearly becomes focused on the owner, not on the car...
Dude, you just walkd into a room and asked "Where's the gold?" Fill out your profile, kick around a lil' bit and get to know "who's who......." We have multi millionaires here, and then there's me.....LOL! But I helped Zupra (12 years old) get to New Orleans with his mom, and ride an Enzo...... So the community spirit here is HUGE but your not gonna get the key to the city just for showing up......... Construction, since I was 15 years old, dangerous, melt your face off refinery stuff, OK? Now I'm almost fifty, lost the first wife and family over a Ferrari and have a NEW hot skinny gf....I worship the ground she walks on....... See how that works? Now get busy, and it's not about hustling some crap, it's about integrity and persevearance.....did I spell that right? You'd think a software upgrade would have spellcheck!!!! We bought a second Ferrari recently, I gave it to her. Now we race around the neighborhood, scaring everyone to death! Have a NICE DAY!
right. the question initially asked basically boils down to "wow - what did you guys do to get all this ****in' money?". it's not really a polite question. and it's pretty pointless since i know plenty of guys that do basically what i do and can't afford ferraris. i know plenty of guys who are younger than me who can afford ferraris. there's no real data to be gleaned from the question, imo. doody.
