Traded it in at Graypaul who have since sold it to Nick Cartwright. Nothing majorly wrong with the car other than

Belts due in March next yr

    Front end needed respray

    both rear qtr needed respray

leather needed alot of work and driver seat re bolstering

    alloys needed painting

car badly scraped underneath. car had been lowered bt 30mm and scraped up my driveway - made me shudder everytime.

    Needed new fuseboard

crack on one of rear lights

    no cats

probably want another clutch in the next 1500 miles

centre console cut short cos some muppet fitted a sub box in it

It broke down on me three times and i lost confidence after that.

As i said the car was going to cost me another 8k to get it how i wanted it and i still wouldnt have felt comfortable with it.

its comforting for us 355 owners that most of the work seems like it was cosmetic rather than mechnical.

What were the breakdowns as a result if - was it serious?

Electrical mostly. Nothing ever mechanically serious.

Immobilizer that wouldnt deactivate - came on whilst driving and just killed the car. couldnt go anywhere.

Fuel pump relay burnt through fuseboard.

    Faulty immobiliser again.

And the brown trouser time the back wheel worked itself lose.

Fair comment. Its good to know that it was an expensive engine rebuild. To be honest 8K seems a bit steep for what you have listed, is that Graypaul or independant prices?

That was my estimate after id had prices from leather trimmers, bodyshops, etc, etc. I wanted a car that was mint, there seemed no point spending it on the 355 which was money i'd never get back. Might aswell buy the 360 which is already mint, just had cambelts and major service and realistically shouldn't cost me anything other than an annual service next year.
