It's not really that, it's that they have to reengineer the drive so the disc doesn't fall out when it's upside down.
the game was orriginally slated for a launch title, but it seems that it was delayed slightly. should still be out before xmas. The system itself may have been delayed to december as well, but nothing confirmed yet.
I don't. I hated PGR2. I played it for a couple days and walked away. I'm not a big fan of Kudos, i.e "drive poorly to score big points". On the flip side, I'm not a big fan of super realistic games either. Oops, you got a wheel off the curb, wheel explodes, race over you loose. I need a good balance and I think Forza delivers that. Plus, tuning your own cars is great.
I still play PGR2, and quite a bit actually. It's by far my most-played Xbox game, including one day where I played it literally all day in order to beat it the Saturday after I bought it! I've played probably 200+ hours, where I haven't gone near Forza in a while. The only thing about Forza that appeals to me is the customization. I hate the gameplay...
It is always a question of arcade vs. simulation. I have to say though, I played the hell out of PGR2, but as soon as I got Forza I left PGR2 to collect dust. I would imagine there will be a Forza 2 eventually on xbox 360. That will be nice.
True. However I look at them more from a "track" perspective: To me the thrill of PGR2 are the real cities whereas Forza gives me real racetracks like the Ring (I know it is in PGR2 but sucks badly).
I haven't bothered with PGR2 since Forza came out either. Actually, that's not entirely true. I tried PGR2 a couple of weeks ago and after about 5 minutes I switched back to Forza again. They're totally different and I like the more realistic aspect of Forza better than the arcade style of PGR2. I also prefer the track choices to just city driving (and the lame Ring on PGR2). Different strokes for different folks.
found some screen shots... they are wide, apparently due to the fact that the game was being played in hi-def... anyway, first pics I've seen of the F50 GT in game and you can also add the Murcielago RGT to the list too now... EDIT added two more... you can also add the Ferrari Testarossa (84-up vintage) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yet another reason why I'm getting XBox 360. Currently have PS2 and GameCube (sold XBox a while ago).
When i get my 360 (hopefully this holiday season ) this is the most likely buy. Otherwise I plan to just rent/play not many games I'd like to buy. I have gamecube and xbox and PSP right now. Though the GC and xbox will be going out when 360 hits.
I can't wait for this game!!!! all the cars in the game will do more than 170mph. there is no more putzing around in trucks and suvs. The tracks are built in real cities with real buildings. they took thousands upon thousands of pictures of every city in the game and then modled everything exact. Appaently Microsoft had to liscense all the company names and buildings. You can create whatever track you want using the entire city as you base. in NYC, the brooklyn bridge has more polygons then an entire track in PGR2. the cars are exceptionaly detailed! They have 80,000 polys. 40,000 on the exterior and 40,000 in the interior. All of wich are rendered in game. they aren't just modeled like that for pictures. To put it into perspective, the cars in PGR2 (which look really good imho) are only 10,000 polys total. PGR3 is seriously the most promising looking game that has been shown to the public, on any platform, including PC. I can't wait to play this game. It's the entire reason i've already paid for my Xbox360.
a crappy pic of the 288 GTO Evo.. low res, non hi-def, a picture of the TV, not great, but there it is... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hope this game will have the new Z06, 550 Barchetta, XJ220, XJ-15, Bugatti, More Lamborghini's, FXX, and a few others... it still looks like a kick ass game
I'm not sure yet about getting xbox 360. I'm not diggin PGR3 at all. It looks like they only updated the graphics. I don't like the fact the cars look like there doing 300 mph on a small straight. IF I do get 360 I'm going to get Test Drive Unlimited. Alot more realistic looking to me plus there's bikes. Dunno if there's any Ferrari's in it (probably not) but it's alot better than this. PGR3:2/5
Historically, the Test Drive games have not been of the greatest quality. Check out www.gamerankings.com. Test Drive on the Xbox scored 65.8%. PGR got 86.8% and PGR2 92.9%. I'd be very surpirsed if Test Drive Unlimited is a better game than PGR3.
Im glad you can rate a game thats not coming out for another 2 months based on a few pictures and videos.
I just watched it on Gamespot.com and was getting light headed... I can't wait!! From http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/driving/projectgothamracing3/news.html?sid=6135026 (I had to cut it down/lower quality to fit) Image Unavailable, Please Login
