This is a major race in my opinion. The major frontrunners to win this race are Ralf, Button & Fisi.... Toyota's first win or possibly the newly christened Honda team's first win (not to mention Button as well). Could be quite symbolic to where F1 is going. The fact this race is in Japan is all the more ironic.
Actually, I think this grid is a tribute to the late Don Adams (of "Get Smart" fame). It's KAOS! Trulli: "Missed it by that much". Kimi crawing around the track. ("Not the craw; the craw!") Sorry 'bout that, Chief.
Ralf or Fisi is going to win this race. Should be interesting to see MS holding FA, JPM and KR. btw.. should be a dry race.
Please FIA bring back the old qualifying format. Maybe it's a nice break for Ralf and Button but let's face it - it doesn't really mean anything. It's like, well, maybe winning a race with only the Jordans and Minardis on the grid...! Ciao, Peter
With the race supposed to be dry and the last part of qualifying a rain out, Hopefully McLaren had time to set up dry, fill the tanks and go for a two stop strategy in the race. It might have been better to start from the pits. That is if your a McLaren, read Kimi, fan. If it is indeed dry, the teams that set up wet will be less of a factor.
Well, it looks like the coverage here of the Japanese GP is going to be a repeat of last year, which was absolutely shocking. The race will be shown 1.5 hours delayed because of the V8 Supertaxis, and because the V8 coverage starts at 6:30am and runs till 4pm (9.5 hours!!!), they're going to cut the F1 coverage down to 1.5 hours! Because the news immediately follows the F1 coverage, last year they got anxious and cut the pre-race buildup, most of the podium and almost all of the press conference. F*ck you Channel 10!
In the end, the V8 Supertaxis, despite their 9.5hrs of coverage, still went 25 minutes overtime! Then all the buildup was cut from F1, and they started it from halfway through the warmup lap. To make matter even worse, the bastards edited out 23 laps during the ad breaks!!! To finish it all off, the icing on the cake was them cutting the press conference. I hope FOM takes Formula 1 away from channel 10.
