I'm a little surprised here. It was my understanding that cars being sold or consigned by an official Ferrari Dealer (and in this case a factory dealer) meet or surpass a very high bar and there was little need to do a PPI. Quality and peace of mind is assumed to justify a price premium.

It sounds like you can do the independent PPI and the car is very close to what you are looking for. I believe it also has another year on Ferrari warranty held over from the previous owner. This should give you some extra comfort if there is still some uncertainty and you might be able to extend it as well. The only item left is price and only you and the dealer can make that work.

I purchased a pristine 360 from him for below 130K. He goes through all his cars prior to sale. He's honest and a really nice guy.

Sorry Brian, I didn't realize that you were the one doing the PPI.

This is a heck-of-a thread! I'm a sponge for knowledge--and this is a valuable discussion. Keep it up, please.

They finally consented to allow Michael to bring the car to someone for a PPI.

They strongly discouraged him from bringing it to me saying it should go to someone "Neutral".

They gave him a list of shops they recommended. Most of them are not equipped or knowledgeable in 360's and the others on the list (unlike me) sell Ferrari's.

    So much for neutral.

I guess they don't want anybody involved in the transaction who helps people make FNA make good on warranty claims.

Very big, very expensive warranty claims.

Good reputation, Yeah, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
