Sorry m8 don't agree,Carcoons are an all year round protection system for the car,not only against damp but against the little accidents that can occur in the garage. It's no more of an effort to put the car in/out the/of Carcoon than it is to remove any other cover. The problem with dehumidfiers is that you have know idea wether they are removing all the moisture, yes you may have a full tank every day or so,but how much moisture is left in the atmosphere.Don't get me wrong I use one for the rest of the garage. Agree with that,I would use a cover that touches the cars paintwork. I'd rather look at a Ferrari than a painting
Whoops, just reread my post,it should read : I wouldn't use a cover that touches the cars paintwork. Also nice link Ric,thanks for posting.
Thats a very interesting article Ric, I remember reading it at the time as I used to work where it was printed.
That's why I personally do not use one. I have an integral garage that has a radiator in it so that it never gets damp. So why cover the bloody thing up!
Eh? Mine has a "humidistat" thing on it so you can set it for how dry you want the place to be & it cuts on & off as necessary. When its damp outside its working hard & in the summer its on much less often. The only way to run them is plumped into a hose that exits the garage - emptying the bucket is a PITA otherwise. I.
Unless you keep the place as warm as the rest of the house then try sticking a dehumidifier in there & you'll see just how damp it gets. I too have an integral garage with a radiator in it & my dehumidifier works quite hard all winter. I.
