By the way, I am putting together the ride route this week. Should be a fun little route with some off the beaten path roads.

NO gravel of course and I will be staying away from roads that even have a lot of loose stuff of ANY kind on them. But my job takes me out there all the time and I have been putting together a few ideas.

I am taking a redeye flight back from Huntington Beach, CA the night before to make it back for this.

    Basically, I leave Huntington at 9 P.M.
Leave LAX for Chicago at midnight.
    Get into Chicago at 5:45.
Leave for Madison after a layover at 8 and am in Madison at 8:30 A.M.

    YUCK.

I am there for meetings for work. My company changed our meeting times from Tues-Friday morning to Wednesday-Friday night. YUCK.

Who KNOWS how many hours of actual sleep I will have the night before??? Oh well!!

Anyway, I am going to take the 328 out right now for a little spin. I can hear the exhaust gurgling out in the driveway. She is warmed up and ready for some action!!

    See ya...

So what weekend are we doing this? I'd rather have the windows open and not the heater on during the ride. Times waning.

    Not sure yet...

The ride I was saying I was planning was the regional Ferrari Club drive in two weeks.

    Mine would be after that.

Ferrari/Lamborghini only this week for the most part. And that is really only because we are also coupling this Ferrari Club of America event with a party afterward at a Ferrari member's house. He is hosting a Pig Roast and party for his friends and the local Ferrari chapter and bringing other cars along on this ride would also be, in essence, bringing along people he doesn't know to his house. He is not going on the ride as he will be getting his place ready.

He is a great guy and would defintely say "Yes" if we ASKED him for others to come, but I wouldn't abuse his generosity by asking him since he IS such a nice guy ya know?? Especially since he has been so kind as to piggyback our event with his party for his friends.

Anyway, with that being said, I will be putting together a drive this fall still and another next spring that is open to ALL make of cars. Whoever is an enthusiast of cars is welcome. In fact, I wouldn't mind ANY type of car coming as long as the driver is an enthusiast and would share their passion, upgrades, stories, and reason for owning what they own with the others. I have friends in my past "club" I used to roll with and they would hopefully all be coming. They would include, M3s, M5s, Boxsters, 911s, Ferraris, Lotus, NSX, RX7s, S2000s, Vipers, etc. All with a passion for driving and all great guys.

You would be more than welcome to come if you start hanging around this board. Everyone's got a story....what's yours???

Why don't you give me a call tomorrow... We can chat and discuss a few things. Sound like an enthusiast..... Give me a call.

I know who you are. I actually tried to stop into the Jag dealership once to meet ya but you weren't in. Have talked to Paul about you, as I know you have been involved in the club. WIll be able to finally meet up with you. Cool.

I will keep you in the loop. I am working on still getting the route put together. The problem has been construction and length of time that I am limited to. We are only going to go for 2 hours or so total. And that doesn't get you very far out from Spring Green with Hwy 60 (the road along the river heading from Spring Green to Boscobel) being closed for a stretch. Not to mention, there is one stretch of road I TOTALLY have to take everyone on. Totally off the beaten path, but one of the coolest and cleanest roads around. I would LOVE to have us go down to Boscobel and take Highway C to Prairie du Chien as this is THE coolest driving road I have seen in the state, but we just don't have the time for that one.

I have it almost finished though. Need to get back out Monday and scout out some more road. The problem is also with the gravel from people's drivways that kind of spills out onto the highway. Kind of annoying and I don't want to be leading people though that kind of garbage, so I am trying to watch for that stuff too and stay away from roads with ANY stones/gravel/potholes/etc. whatsoever!! Hard to do in this state!!

For those of you that made the drive this weekend around Madison, it was great to meet you...for those of you who missed it...I'm sorry to say, you really missed it!

There were so many cool cars, nice people and roasted pig that I don't know where to begin...but I want to thank Bill for setting this up and Joel for being such an amazing host.

Great drive Bill, thanks for the invite!

Well, I can't say this was "my" drive as it was really Paul and Stan's. I do get credit for the route though...

And if, by my lucky chance, the idiot that was driving the Cadillac with Illinois plates down Highway O on Saturday is reading this....

If you are ever on a back winding country road and you see a row of Ferraris behind you, either......

    1. Get out of the damned WAY!!

    or

    2. At least do the speed limit. 45 in a 55 does NOT cut it!!!

And with the winding roads and no-passing zones, we did NOT enjoy staring at the back of your car for those 5 miles. Sheesh!!!

I must say, the Lambo was my favorite!!

Sorry Stan/Paul, I was confused...I thought the drive was set up by Bill. Whomever I have to thank then, Thanks! It was great. Save the caddy (which gave me visions of testing out Joel's .50 cal gun)....it was a lot of fun.

Thanks to all and I enjoyed meeting everyone, Jeff

    Battman,

Enjoyed meeting and talking with you at the drive on Saturday. Sorry I didn't get to say good-bye before you left the pig roast at Joel's castle. Please e-mail your phone contact info and e-mail address so I can assist you with getting additional records/info on your Nero 328.

My private e-mail address is [email protected]

I wish you the best of luck with your 328....it is truly a wonderful 328.

    Cheers,
    Brandon
